WHO: Astoria Greengrass, Theodore Nott
WHERE: Argyll, Scotland
WHEN: Friday, 17 June 2005, late afternoon
WHAT: Meeting a horse
RATING: PG max
Leaving work precisely at four was surprisingly difficult, and Theodore left Diagon feeling a bit ruffled after an argument with his employer. It was risky business, arguing with one of the few people who actually cared to employ him, and though he was careful about what assets he had left, he didn't like the idea of budgeting without an income. Imagine the damage to his wine collection! More importantly, he felt like he could hold his own when properly employed. Joblessness seemed to engender a feeling of pity from friends that he couldn't quite abide -- that he caught rare moments of sympathy whilst gainfully employed was nearly too much to bear as it was, and he was sure he'd die should he feel the true force of Slytherin loyalty. But, all that in mind, he had made a promise to meet Astoria this afternoon and he disliked changing plans, even if recent disruptions in Diagon had made it near impossible to meet work deadlines. Two cases of muggle/wizarding property disputes in less than a month and magical creatures prowling around outside the front door -- surely, this was hell.
Theodore put his thoughts into order before making the apparition jump to Wales, his least favourite place in the entirety of the Ministry's purview, and then a second to Argyll, just outside a nice looking set of stables set into the countryside. It was beautiful here, and though the weariness of apparition hollowed him out a bit, he took only half a moment to enjoy the sunshine and greenery before looking around for Astoria. Off a ways was a horse pen, and he quickly shrugged away his work coat, letting it drape over his arm, before pulling off his tie and undoing the top button of his shirt. For Theodore, this was practically undressed, but he hadn't had time to properly change into the appropriate attire. He hoped Astoria didn't mind.
