Astoria wondered how many books he had read on horses. Yes, it was certainly possible his expertise came solely from experience but he spoke with an authority that suggested additional study. He had the sort of learned intelligence that made her envious. He was like Daphne in the way that he could absorb knowledge.
"I had no doubt in your abilities with horses. I simply hoping that I'm exaggerating their hatred of me." She picked up a bit of apple from the bucket, holding back a remark on how that didn't seem sanitary. She supposed horses didn't care if insects and dirt flew all over their food. Making her hand flat she eased towards the horse, her eyes darting towards Theo for reassurance.
The horse took the bit of apple from her palm and her eyes went wide at the feel, her smile proud as she pulled her hand away. "This horse is clearly a good judge in character. I quite like it."
