Theodore stroked the horse, letting his silent praise extend to her mane and the edge of her beautiful, long face. He felt very at home here, very comfortable, and more than a little nostalgic -- all feelings he knew couldn't last.
"That's all for today. Just an introduction of sorts. And it is entirely my hope," he added, fishing out a pellet for the horse, "that you do like it." He was pleased that she already wanted to do something else, but wished to drag it out a bit -- it gave him an excuse to spend time with her, naturally, but also let her experience his own pleasure with the animals at a gentle, non-threatening pace. All was best in moderation, he thought.
