Noir Time
Four scans apiece from Daredevil #502 and Greg Rucka's creator-owned noir Stumptown #1.

So, last Wednesday in the old digs, it seems.

DAREDEVIL #43: Luke Cage is kind of a jerk.
I've been hot and cold about Brian Michael Bendis' work. But I've decided to take a look at his DAREDEVIL run with Alex Maleev.
Matt Murdock has found out two things: the Owl is trying to take over the Kingpin's territory with Mutant Growth Hormone *and* the NYPD are trying to get him on tape as Daredevil. So if Daredevil can't do it...

According to Wikipedia, this takes place after Jessica and Luke had their one night stand but before Jessica realized she was pregnant in ALIAS.

I'm starting to doubt the man-crush theory. )

DAREDEVIL #30: The big secret revealed
I've decided to try to get into the Bendis/Maleev DAREDEVIL run. I know some of the basics (Matt is revealed as Daredevil, Matt gets married, Matt becomes the new Kingpin, Matt has *another* nervous breakdown, Matt ends up in federal prison) but not all of how we got from A to B to C to D.

Anyway, one part I never quite understood about Matt Murdock being revealed as Daredevil (for the third time?) was how anyone *could* reveal that. The Kingpin made sure no one in his organization knew besides him.

Who knew what and when. )

From very opposite ends of the genre spectrum.

Four scans apiece from Daredevil #501, the first proper issue of Andy Diggle's run on the title, and from X-Men vs. Agents of Atlas #1; obviously something of a stylistic difference.

Daredevil: The List

Four scans from Dark Reign: The List: Daredevil #1 (that's a mouthful of short words), as Daredevil comes face to face with Osborn's new world order.

Martial Arts Week: Daredevil vs. Lady B

In honour of Martial Arts Week, let's take a look at one of my favourite Ed Brubaker-written fight scenes, from Daredevil #113, as Daredevil comes fist to fist with Lady Bullseye for the first time.

Martial Arts Week: Daredevil vs. the Punisher
Martial Arts Week continues with a fierce fight between Daredevil and the Punisher in DAREDEVIL #257. It is narrated by a criminal named Coppersmith both men are after for different reasons. The Punisher found Coppersmith first. As Ann Nocenti wrote the issue, there is a fair amount of narration.

A big fight and lots of text. )

The secret origin of Nuke!

The character Nuke was first introduced during the end of Frank Miller's Daredevil arc "Born Again." Besides a BA-related What If? issue, Nuke didn't make any more appearances for a while.

Then he returned in the beginning of Daniel Way's Wolverine: Origins series, where we discovered his origin.

That time DD ____ Ultron to _____ with a ______
A conversation in another entry reminded me of the time THIS happened.
One of the many badass moments of Ann Nocenti's underrated DD run.

Daredevil Does It With Crazy Bitches
It has been said that Daredevil can be slashed with anyone.  Case in point:

one more for the fridge
So back in 2006 I heard that Tamora Pierce (most famous for the Tortall series beginning with Alanna: the First Adventure) was collaborating with her husband, Tim Liebe, on a limited series run for Marvel that would detail the origins of a new White Tiger in the Daredevil cosmos.

Cool, I said, because even with her faults (this poster likes to pretend the Immortals quartet did not happen) Pierce writes some pretty genuinely kick-ass heroines.

Excited to see what she would do with the super-heroine trope, I picked up the whole run of White Tiger.

three pages from White Tiger #5, plus one from Daredevil #113 )
