That time DD ____ Ultron to _____ with a ______
A conversation in another entry reminded me of the time THIS happened.
One of the many badass moments of Ann Nocenti's underrated DD run.

That's right. Daredevil just beat Ultron to death with a stick. Not even his billy club, but a freaking tree branch.

Ann Nocenti, y'all. Daaaaamn,

welcome aboard, and I love your appropriate icon! Another great master of stick fighting.

Yeah, Nocenti's DD run is still the best one I have ever read. I was already a casual reader of superhero comics before I got my hands on it, but probably wouldn't be here now if I hadn't.

Ann Nocenti was a talented writer, but she could also be a real downer.

I think she does downer great, though. It's very dramatic but not as much angsty as most other DD writers.

Is that maybe a Beatles reference with "number nine"?

I don't know jack about the Beatles, but Number Nine was a bio-engineered "perfect woman" Ultron had begun to build a rapport with.

The Number Nine is also a luxury bullet train through the afterlife headed to the Ninth Underworld. </random videogame trivia>

It must be the alliteration...

This is truly an incredible moment.

I had to collect all this in singles; that there is only one trade of Nocenti Daredevil is thoroughly unacceptable. And frankly, after Miller, Bendis and Brubaker, they need to go back into the crazy with DD again like Ann did; it's the only new frontier left.

I love that thought balloon in the splash page. It's so blatantly added after the fact by an idiot editor.

I've never been particularly fond of Daredevil, and this post hasn't really changed my mind - but I have to admit, this is pretty badass, all right.

Wait, revealed inside Ultron once his head is knocked off... Could it be that all along he was... an inanimate carbon rod in a battlesuit?
