[Since Perry's "visit," Gwen's freedom had been super curtailed. Jason had gotten fired, or so he'd told everyone on the forums, and security had informed her that she needed to remain on the base (in order to speak with the scientist). Gwen knew they meant Naila al-Kimyai, and she was super nervous. Maybe the nervousness wasn't logical, since there wasn't any proof that she'd been involved in anything regarding Perry (assuming Jason was right about his ability to clear all League recording devices), but she'd been wary around the scientist since their conversation about Jason's employment. Too, there was the matter of the intense psych tests that had been prescribed for her (which Gwen had been participating in daily), and which no one would tell her the goal of/reason for. In short, Gwen was super concerned.

She was in her room at the facility.

She sat on her bed in jeans and a sweater, and she totally wasn't thinking about turning on her RFID cloner and escaping (really).]

[The morning after this and after security logs have been reviewed with the tampering noticed. Shortly after he appears for work. As soon as she hears he's in the building.]

[Gwen was super worried. She'd experienced the sensation before, but not to this extent. This was something new, and she'd never been worried enough before that she had trouble focusing on things around her, and she was totally having trouble with that now. She'd tried to read, after returning to the apartment following her walk, but she'd kept reading the same sentence over and over. She'd tried to sleep, but her mind had kept persistently racing whenever she closed her eyes. All she could think about was the next morning in the lab, and about what she was going to do if the head scientist said she couldn't leave again.

As a result, she was up and dressed as soon as the sky began to lighten. She waited for Jason in white medical scrubs, sneakers and a green hoodie, and she was totally going to make super time getting to the facility once he arrived (that was the plan). But she kind of became impatient, and she started walking before Jason was even scheduled to arrive. She figured he would be able to track her, because she wasn't careful about trampling the grass, and he was kind of a super spooky vigilante, right? She even left breadcrumbs (from the toast she was nibbling on), because they did that in a fairy tale (and because it made her laugh).

So, anxious, she waited outside the facility fence and cooled her heels as she prepared to enter the maw of darkness that was the League part of Area-52.]

[After Gwen has missed the fourth appointment. From her office phone at the lab.]

Ring, ring.

What's going on with the facility? People over there aren't returning my calls.

[The previous head scientist seems to have been transferred out overnight. There's the expected gossip about why and if it had anything to do with Gwen and the Head of Security.

In his place, a not-so-new scientist returns. With no explanation given about where she's been, Naila returns to work without damaging the subjects. Indeed, everyone from the subjects to her co-workers seem to be pleased by the change.]
