[At the arcade, on the bright counter where tickets are turned in for little plastic baubles and stuffed animals, a question mark. It fits into the palm, and it's made of imperial jadeite. It's ridiculously expensive, of course, but it's also beautiful. So smooth that it feels like it wasn't carved from any ragged stone that could possibly exist. It comes with no note, no box, nothing but itself. No alarms have been triggered, and there's nothing of note on the security cameras.]

While Cat leaves him a present in the arcade, Stephanie decided to go a different route. The Mean-Eyed Cat is under his watchful eye now too, and when he popped into the bar that night, whichever bartender was on duty handed him a tiny box and a note. In the box, some cufflinks. They aren't made from that computer chip from long ago -- that was somewhere else, still a pendant, given back to Eddie because it was too painful of a reminder as they dismantled their lives together. But, it's a sign that she remembers all those years ago when they were younger and happier and loved each other freely.

The note reads:

Been thinking about that night I murdered your computer a lot -- and how much I loved it. Maybe we can have another night like that soon. (Minus the computer killing -- probably.)
