It's the end of the world as we know it, and everything's fine.

Both Buffy and Angel have had their apocalypses; Sunnydale is a huge smoking crater, and Los Angeles is ticking on like nothing ever happened. Except something did. Somehow, Buffy and Angel are the new owners of the deserted Wolfram and Hart building, there's gold name-plates on the top floor condos for both teams, Buffy's and Angel's, and nobody quite knows what's going on with the Senior Partners or if they're even still in play. All they do know is, someone has been notifying all the brand-new Slayers and telling them to come out to Los Angeles and hop in the sandbox.

On which side of the fence do you fall?

THE GAME NEEDS YOU. Join today>>>>>

Avatar Nation, an OC Avatar Game

[info]oldschoolrp

It's not enough that you just discovered you can bend a supposedly unbendable element. It's not enough that there are no schools to teach you how to do this. It's not enough that the world generally does not trust this kind of bending. Oh no, it's more complex than that. You see, there are two school for this kind of bending, the Lightbenders and the Shadowbenders, and they don't like each other. So you have a choice, align yourself with the flamboyant and charismatic Lightbenders, or study with the secretive and skilled Shadowbenders? It looks like they'll be opposing each other for a long time, better hope you picked the right side.

We are eagerly seeking: Lightbenders, more Waterbenders, members for the Tan Di Hui street gang as well as shop and tavern owners. We also looking for a Firebending teacher, employees for the Jasmine Dragon Tea Shop, doctors and nurses. We are a small, friendly game which has been open for over three months with no major drama. Big plot is on the horizon and we are looking for mature and creative players to take part in it. Important roles are still open and we love player input, please do not hesitate to contact us through the Drop Box with questions or ideas!

The second week of school is just over and you open your room door with your keystone only to find it flooded with water. Your mind jumps to the likeliest suspect. The water mage who is also your best friend. But before there can be a student government court session held to get to the bottom of the matter, the entire campus erupts with humping arctic hares.

You think you've got it bad. And that's when you spot a fellow classmate walking naked on the grounds Friday morning, dripping head to toe in red blood. And who is that Faie kid who is drop-dead gorgeous but absolutely refuses to stop hitting on you?

Then you're late for runic studies and celtic magic classes all the time because your witch school rival keeps talking in your head. To make matters worse, that hot Blitzball captain you kissed last weekend? Apparently gossip girl has caught on to that. And it's splashed all over the journals now.

Will the craziness ever stop?

Welcome to Idris Academy.

EVEN FURTHER AWAY
a next gen fairy tale experience

THE STORY | CHARACTERS | TAKEN PBS | RULES | FAQ | APPLY

Once upon a time, in a kingdom far far away---oh wait, you've heard this one before? That's no surprise. We all grew up with fairy tales. And these stories of dastardly witches and wizards, of beautiful princes and princesses and crafty fairy folk are just that---stories. But what if they're not? What if, in an actual kingdom that was further away than you could ever imagine to get to, there were people living out the tales you heard every night before bed? And what if their mothers and fathers told stories of far off lands much like our own world? They probably wouldn't believe that this place exists, just as we couldn't fathom that there's a world where Cinderella really met her Prince Charming, and true love's kiss could really wake a sleeping beauty from a deathlike sleep.

But that place does exist. In a world parallel to ours, in a place that no magic but what we cast in our dreams could get us to, the characters of these fairy tales are real; living and breathing but slowly fading away. Yes, that world is waning and all because the one thing that fuels it and keeps its residents alive is in short supply. That one thing is belief. And as our belief in the magical fades away, so will all that is magical.

But there is hope. There is a family who, through ancient magic, has always been able to travel to and communicate with the other world. No one has ever been able to explain why the two sons of Grimm were connected to the land of fairy tales and enchantment. But it has been this way since before Jacob and Wilhelm began recording the stories of things they knew and heard from far far away. In their descendants, Rolf and Edwin Grimm, who have inherited this magnificent ability, lays the only hope for the people of the fairy tale world.

Even Further Away is a social, thread based rp game set at a fictional Grimm Academy where the children of popular fairy tale characters have come to live because their world is dying. Descendants of the famous Brothers Grimm have found a way, through limited magic, to bring the next generation [ie Snow White's children etc] to our world in order to save them from theirs. Because the land of fairy tales is so different from our own, a boarding academy has been founded by the brothers so that these children can smoothly transition, and learn about the ways of our world in order to survive in it. The game will center around the students, their lives at the academy, and their interactions with each other all pushed along by some zany subplot.

Game opens October 21st.

Avatar Nation, an OC Avatar Game

[info]avatards
[info]oldschoolrp

Avatar Aang not only brought balance and order to the world when he stopped the Phoenix King, but he and his former rival, Fire Lord Zuko, took great strides toward ensuring that the mistakes of past generations would never again occur. Zuko made the Fire Nation Capital City of Awatan Sathit the center of the world, encouraging large numbers of people from the three nations to settle within its walls. One hundred and fifty years have passed since Avatar Aang's epic battle with the Phoenix King, and all seems right with the world to most. The Order of the White Lotus has begun to notice stirrings in the world. Tensions between the three nations over the possession of the former Air Nomad territories are beginning to mount, a new style of bending is emerging, and the Avatar has not yet finished her training.

Are one hundred and fifty years of peace about to end? )

CYCLICAL: a next-gen HP game

[info]cyclical_mods
[info]oldschoolrp

CYCLICAL RPG is a next-gen Harry Potter game, hosted on LiveJournal, that aims to entertain. We're a game looking for dynamic, well-written characters who are both fun to interact with and exciting to watch. We're looking for all walks of life, from the skittishly shy Hufflepuff to the brilliant Head Girl. Here at CYCLICAL, we're not boasting a complex plot or a Triwizard Tournament- the interactions your character finds ought to be and will be plot enough, if you stick around to find out!

FYI: We don't have a set age limit, nor do we have a ratings limit. We find that maturity shows itself regardless of age, and intelligent players are capable of setting their own limits. All sexualities, prejudices, and walks of life are more than welcome (as they would be found in real life as well), so long as they can be backed up in the application. Our main criteria, above all, is the quality of the application submitted. Fandom can shove it- we like our characters quirky.

WANTED: Louis Weasley, our ever-elusive Head Girl, prefects and Quidditch players from all Houses, sixth years, and girls!

Grimmingly - An Original Fairy Tale Game

[info]grimmingly
[info]oldschoolrp

Throughout time each culture has had their own way of passing down the morals of society to the newest additions—their children. Each culture had different tales of characters who strayed from the right, to follow the wrong—or those who had stood up for what was right. They have taught countless generations the differences between good and evil, strength and weakness, courage and cowardice. Morality all rolled up into nice little slices of adventure, romance, deceit, and betrayal. But what happens after "happily ever after"? When the page is turned the characters do not sit idly by and wait.

Once upon a time they stepped from the pages into our world, immortal and powerful and free to do as they would - heroes and villains alike - and began to live like mortals. At first they were pure Tales in human form, princesses and evil stepmothers and knights in shining armor thrown into a reality they couldn't fathom, but as time passed the lines started to blur. They learned how the real world works and were forced to adapt—or to attempt to make the world conform to them.

They are not trapped, however. Part and parcel with their power is the ability to change. If Snow White fell in love with a mortal she could abandon her powers and pass them on, becoming fully human and living out a normal life from that point on. The reasons vary, and not everyone has motivations that are so pure; for some it was a means to an end—giving a villain a greater chance to seize power and hold sway over others—but for most, it simply allowed them to live out the life they'd made for themselves in the mortal world. The Tale lived, then, in another body, and the story could continue. And while some took the responsibility seriously and strove to choose their predecessor well, others were careless and wreaked havoc. Some have chosen not to pass on their magic at all.

For the new Tales, then, life becomes different. They are now immortal, gaining abilities they'd never thought possible, and have both the memories of their own previous life and of the Tale that they, now, have lived. It can be just as painful as when they stepped out of the Tales in their first form, especially if their predecessor did not choose wisely...

Deceptive Perception - A Semi-Anonymous Supernatural-Type RP

Deceptive Perception

The land known as Inora consists of a set of islands that cradle more than just mortals in its loving embrace. They were said to have been created by vampires long ago. This gave them a place to live among the mortals who fed them while painting the earth red with blood. Eventually, other races were thrown into the fray and a century of war was fought for supremacy.

Centuries passed between rulers and the times of war seemed to almost be forgotten. The treaty between the demons and vampires has always been upheld. The werewolves have always protected the treaty and, eventually, winds of change blew through the lands. Times evolved and an industrial revolution took hold. All was well with the lands.

But even something as simple as your perception can be deceptive and nothing is ever perfect...

The latest in a long line of demonic kings has died and the vampires have come back into the throne. Even with this change, death and violence still run rampant through Inora's streets and it seems the Gunslingers are unable to stop it.

Are you part of the problem or part of the solution..?
