WHO: Sam & Ruby WHAT: Hex bags. See also: awkward. WHEN: Evening. WHERE: Ruby's place. RATING: TBD
Sam was intrigued by the idea of getting to learn how to piece together a hex bag. Something useful to carry around. Magic protection, keeping him hidden from the bad guys. Sam needed the stealth. He and Dean both needed it. Ruby was usually willing to provide, but there was no guarantee that she'd be around all the time if he ever needed something whipped up on the spot. Ruby offering to teach him witchcraft? It was both thrilling, interesting, and worrying all at the same time. Sam knew a lot about what happened to people who practiced the art. Nothing good really came out of it, especially when there was a demon involved. This time, the demon was Ruby. That was really the only real reason as to why Sam didn't flat out tell her no.
Ironically, it wasn't the witchcraft that worried him the most about all of this. It was the conversation that they'd had earlier - the imagery that Andrea had planted in his mind. Ruby, sporting a wide stomach and a ridiculous craving for a bucket of fries. Shouting. Glaring. Black eyed, head spinning - oh, god, the exorcist would have nothing on a pregnant Ruby. He'd die. She'd kill him. She would murder him with her rage and...and Sam didn't want to think about it. It wasn't like she was knocked up or anything. It had all just been Andrea's way of making them suffer for their amusement at her. It was harsh and, right then and there, Sam decided to throw Andrea into the little prank war that he and Dean had been having. That was, if he and Dean were actually still having the war. Sam didn't know anymore. They weren't exactly talking.
All the same, that only gave Sam another reason to meet up with Ruby. Once he found her door, he knocked at it sharply, shoved his hands into his pockets, and allowed for his shoulders to slump awkwardly as he waited.
Ruby was going to look perfectly normal when she answered the door. Not anything like that terrifying image he was batting back. That'd be impossible. Right? Right.
