"Hellfire? I didn't realize I was...I mean, you did say that calling on Hell was involved before, but -" He rubbed at his neck sheepishly. "This magic stuff is pretty complicated, huh?" He was already planning on calling Bobby up when he had a chance. If anyone had books on magic, it'd be him. Purely for researching purposes, of course. Sam didn't exactly plan on using any severe magic soon. This was something that was being handled more out of curiosity than anything else. He wanted to know more about its origins. History, if anything. When he needed the spells and stuff, he'd go to Ruby. Sam highly doubted Bobby kept too many of those around anyway. And if he did? He'd probably deny it. Knowing Bobby, he wouldn't want Sam to meddle in anything more dangerous than he already had to.
Ruby talking about convincing people that she was a Sunday School teacher amused Sam long enough to keep him from getting lost in his plans on research. He grinned slightly. "Now that's just wrong." A demonic Sunday School teacher. Couldn't get any worse than that, now could it?
He turned to examine the hex bag he'd just put together. It looked fairly normal for something that had just been caught in a raging hellfire. He was pulling it to him, working at closing the bundle so that he could tie it up properly when Ruby began speaking. Sam immediately felt his shoulder slump, that uncomfortable feeling attacking him all over again. "Ruby..." Ruby, what? She said he couldn't deny it. And he couldn't. It was true. She knew it. He knew it. Why deny?
Looking a bit embarrassed - her going on about him screwing her (with handcuffs!) didn't help - Sam dropped the hex bag and placed his palms flat against the table. Damn her. Why couldn't she just let this go? "It doesn't creep you out at all? The idea that you and I could create something so..." Sam frowned, looking down at the table. "If you say that it's impossible - how do you know for sure? How long have you been engaged in a serious enough relationship to figure out if this isn't a possibility? How many bodies have you hopped in and out of before waiting out the full period of...whatever it is that women have to wait before they discover that they're pregnant? Have you done that before, Ruby? How do you know for sure?"
