He supposed that wouldn't be so bad. Another connection. Just another way to be closer with Ruby. He felt a lot more reassured by that information than the idea of having to depend on Hell for every bit of power he might ever need to perform magic. Sam didn't even know if he would be using the magic that often outside of the angel and demon deflecting hex bags, but if he ever did need to do anything beyond that having a demon that he could trust to help him along would be useful. He might have well been the first human to ever have something like this offered to him. Fortunately, he was not the type to abuse such an offer.
"Thank you," Sam said, looking up from the book. "It's more than all right." Her words were more reassuring than the touch at his arm was. Sam didn't know why, but rather than making him feel calm and at ease as it usually did, he found that he felt uncomfortable all over again. Sam eased to the side a little, pretending to be engrossed with reading through the words that she had pointed out so that it wouldn't look like an intentional move.
Mix the two herbs, then read the lines. Should have been easy enough, right? Sam reached for the items on the table and scooped them up with a hand, moving to mix them as he had been told. When he was finished, Sam shot Ruby a somewhat skeptical look before looking down at the book again. He read off the first two lines as told, then met Ruby's gaze for indication as to what he was supposed to be doing next.
