Sam fully intended to make this work. He was tired of the world screwing him over. It had done so quite often over the past couple years and he was damned well ready for it to stop. When he was with Ruby, Sam felt like he could do anything. He could be whatever he wanted to be. He could do anything that he wanted to do. Ruby gave him that, simply by having the faith in him that she did. She never once questioned his ability to take Lilith down. She never told him that he just couldn't do things; Ruby loved and trusted him and somewhere down that dark road that they had been walking together Sam had found that he felt very much the same. They could do this, couldn't they? Stick together. Be in love. The world might have ended up hating him for it, but Sam didn't care. He had Ruby. This was what he needed - better yet, it was what he wanted.
He kissed her, slower, yet heavy all the same. One hand slid up the side of her shirt, long fingers brushing against her smooth skin. Sam loved every second of it; he loved every bit of her. "I don't want anything but you," he said lowly against her lips. Sam pushed down against her, proving his point exactly by showing Ruby that he was already getting hard for her. "I love you." He kept saying it. Why wouldn't he? It was true. And Sam wanted nothing more for her to feel loved - especially now.
