So, uh, keep an eye out for tree attacks potentially? This one did nothing to us though, so it just might just be a really creative artist out there making tree art. Adora, Catra, left food in your oven. You guys were passed out in Finn's room and we weren't going to wake you because I'm not that much of an asshole. Today.

The trees I know would never use an ax as a weapon. I'm betting on the creative artist angle.

I think it's a fair bet. Adora reminded me something similar was found awhile ago, so it might be their thing? Though I still don't rule out new dangers, with Vallo being Vallo.

Maybe, and safety is first here. But Cabeswater, and my experience with sentient ecosystems, says I couldn't let trees get a bad reputation in the name of someone else's art.

...Now I'm wondering if Cabewater would have opinions on trees from the Lord of the Rings or, like, Shrek.

I don't want it to get ideas, Keith. It's already strong-willed as it is without being able to uproot itself and walk around.

Listen, you already have the chicken house, why not a walking forest? (This is a joke, I know how much of a bad idea this is.)

The chicken house is basically a souped-up theme park ride under the guise of sentience. If it starts thinking on its own, no one will ever get inside again. Including myself.

The responsible parent side of me agrees with that call. The other side of me would definitely go inside.

You can be first in line if you're feeling irresponsible when the event comes around. It's why we have people sign liability waivers.

You lawyer types and your liability forms.

I won't be pursuing my law degree in the fall, but I can still be here to help anyone understand their legal, and liability waiver, needs.

I decided my career is going to take me to different places than when I first got here. Being a lawyer makes sense on paper, but social work is what I'm built for.

Yeah, that's kind of what happened with me too. Had my mind set on a certain path being the right one and it just wasn't working with the life I had now. I'm glad you were able to figure that out for yourself.

It took a while, but Ronan was immediately supportive, and he's probably happy I didn't decide to stick with being a fed.

Probably made his anarchist butt so happy with that call.

What kind of social work were you leaning toward?

His anarchist butt was part of the reason I was recruited in the first place.

And I'm focusing on child welfare. I don't suspect that will change, either.

A love story for the ages.

Good. Children need more advocates because the system can be awful.

That's the way I'm going to tell it to Nora, a love story for the ages. We'll see if she believes it.

I know. I could have used one in Henrietta, but now I'll be the person I wanted to see when I was a kid instead.

She will. She loves you guys.

Same. Shiro and I were talking about it when everything with Kipp started a few months back. We're lucky we found people that have been willing to help us get to where we are with him, but we need to keep putting more good people in positions to help to keep that going for everyone. You're going to be amazing in this field, I know it.

I won't let myself be anything less than that.

What's the verdict where you stand with Kipp and the adoption now? I know the process can seem tedious and slow on a good day.

It's been dragging, but we're actually suppose to get our day in court on the 12th. We'll be submitting statements of support and character from our friends that day and those that wanted to come in person to give them, will be able to do it then. It shouldn't be too long after that we get to know what's finally going to happen.
