Fingers pressed to breastbone and lips to fingertips – it's a shadow show, a strange charade, and silent Severus uses it. Heart against heart, a touch imparts his history of shame.

His heartbeat stutters, his breathing falters. Skin on skin, their different lusts collide. These are the final ways, his penance paid in a parody of love.

No dream is forever, his duplicity discovered, the sacrament denied.

These touches, kisses, more lovelorn collisions – no shadow show, no penance plied, this melody unwound.

Hello all! Thanks for the lovely drabbles last week. It's time for a new challenge today, and as a nod to the upcoming holiday, this week's topic is:

Challenge 38: New Beginnings
As the start of a new year approaches, this seemed to be appropriate. As always, you can interpret this as you will. You can tell us about the beginning of the Snarry relationship, or about some other significant beginning.

And let me take this opportunity to thank you all, on behalf of myself and medawyn, for your enthusiastic participation in this community. I've really enjoyed the friends I've made here, and I hope that some more of our lurkers start participating in the months to come. :)
