Severus eyed the offering greedily. Its firm skin had achieved the perfect wine-red flush, indicating that now was the ideal moment. A single pearlescent drop glistened along its tip, gently reflecting the candlelight, inviting his tongue to taste. Severus resisted the temptation. This opportunity came rarely; he wanted to savor the moment as long as possible. After all, anticipation was always the best part of any experience.

Finally he could stand the waiting no longer. Hair sliding along his cheeks, Severus bent forward, sinking his teeth deep into the sweet, crisp flesh. Nothing compared to the first, perfect fall apple.
