His heartbeat stutters, his breathing falters. Skin on skin, their different lusts collide. These are the final ways, his penance paid in a parody of love.
No dream is forever, his duplicity discovered, the sacrament denied.
These touches, kisses, more lovelorn collisions – no shadow show, no penance plied, this melody unwound.
