Dream Girl's complex love life and a great letter 'column'

After Dream Girl 'died' we catch a glimpse into what she is really thinking in the hours before her death. It seems weird but it counts hours backward from her 'demise'

I don't know what to think about these pages. She is falling for Star Boy but doesn't want to hurt Brainy which makes her behaviour later in Querl's mind, the 'true love forever sweetipie' stuff suspect. Either later writers didn't grasp this triangle on purpose or the Dream Girl after death is not as she seems. I can't reconcile it with the 'yes querl honey bear I'll marry you in front of all our BFFs' Dream Girl. A sense of obligation?

Also the letters 'column' for something less serious.

I like to think the Omac is Keith Giffen

The Legion letter column was something I truly miss.

I dearly loved the one they did when Dave Cockrum died - no letters, just a tribute. I know it was posted on the old comm, do we have it up here too?

Drawn by Conner, what do you expect?

I always thought that both images of Brainy she saw were foreshadowing his sadness of her death since he was the first person to even notice (and he loved her, apparently).

Its the big dollop of her Star Boy attraction that stops me from doing that, especially when Star Boy morphs to Brainy's look of hurt. Her interest in Star Boy is never brought up again so why go into it here?

I don't generally care much for Threeboot, but that letters column was hilarious.

Blatant lies!...Pride and Prejudice isn't very good at all. Or at least the first sixty pages aren't.

To Kill a Mockingbird is though.

Shadow Lass looks adorable in her fuzzy pink slippers. The hell with green-skinned alien space babes - blue-skinned girls are what it's all about.
And I LOVE the line "as two of the foremost martial artists in the galaxy, we are, of course, answering letters". A little bitter there, KK?

Shadow Lass was one of the reasons I was drawn to this iteration of the Legion, as sad as it sounds, but I agree, she does look so cute there.

I haven't really tried to follow the Legion's history, because it's just too damn complex. I just pick up bits here and there, and appreciate what I can understand - and sexy blue women in fuzzy slippers is one of those things.

Doesn't hurt that Amanda Conner's drawn said sexy blue woman in fuzzy slippers, either.

And no, like I said below, I haven't really been a big Legion follower. I picked this up primarily because I liked Kitson's art and because I was a little bit aware of the weight the title carried and liked that I could read something from the start.

I like that this SL is dressed. She had a great outfit that looks better than a strappy bikini.

Man, I miss the Threeboot Legion. As someone who hasn't checked out the older and apparently superior runs (Everyone goes on about the Great Darkness Saga), I was mighty pissed when this got hijacked so Johns could play fanwank, again. Granted, he's done okay, and his version of Starman is entertaining, to say the least, but I liked the idea of Waid's run, as hokey as some of his dialogue and the like could be. Kitson's art didn't hurt, either.

You need to post the follow up letter column, that reveals the fate of Brainiac 5's goats. And the bit with Brainy's goats, too, now that I think of it.
