Batman is a fanboy.

From Batman Adventures v2 #14.

What does Matt Hagen and Bruce Wayne have in common?

Fast forward to the present.

Look at that smile! Brucie is in fanboy heaven.

But things aren't looking so good...

Uh oh. Bruce doesn't look so happy.

After this Mr. Trent finds out the secret of Mr. Zale--SPOILER--he's Clayface, trying to make a comeback in the movie world. So Trent's kidnapped, Batman figures out what happened, Trent escapes, Trent finds a way to help Batman. But Clayface finds a way to make Batman's utility belt inaccessible. So how did Batman defeat Clayface?

Yeaaaaah.

So after this story, Batman de-stresses in the epilogue While Justice Needs Me by watching an episode of The Gray Ghost. Cue flashback!

But young Brucie is no Dickie Grayson.

So Martha investigates, and asks Brucie what he was doing. He was, as he put it, working on his moves.

Traces of Bruce Wayne drama we all know and love.

So off he goes to bed...

Oh, Martha. And you even made a Mommy promise!

But Brucie has the last say.

The makings of a crazy prepared badass.

So the lesson is kids, too much TV can make you become Batman.

Young Brucie emoting to his mom in her Chanel suit is the best thing ever.

Motto. Although Simon Trent acting with Adam West's classic delivery (old chum) is a close second.

"Trystan Zale?" Whoa... I could be mistaken, but didn't this come out -years- ago? As in, way before Batman Begins and Christian Bale was tapped for Bruce Wayne's role?

If not, very clever. If so, freaky coincidence.

But at this point, wouldn't they have already known Bale was going to be in Batman Begins? I think Begins came out around 2005, didn't it? Hmm..

Whats freaky is that Zale seems to go into a tantrum after having a scene ruined by another person...

If we're doing a DCAU week, someone has to repost the issue where Joker infiltrates the Watchtower.

And now I'm imagining a sequel to "Batman: Arkham Asylem" set in the Justice League Watchtower. Thank you!

Oh Bruce Timm's Batman, I love you.

The scans are super-duper tiny though. I could barely read them. :/

See, I want to say "This stuff should be in the DCU!", but you can't actually do that. Because if you did, Bruce's mom would tuck him in and say "And if you behave, we'll go see that Zorro movie tomorrow."

Bruce Wayne was a busy, busy kid 48 hours before his parents died.

I was just noticing...that's a really flat TV for the time! And a well-made action figure, too.

Awww.

It would probably be a nightmare to be doing a franchise reboot and then have the billionaire owner come in and tell you to cameo the original.

It's far from unknown. Jack Larson, the actor who played the original Jimmy Olsen, had a cameo in 'Superman Returns', and Lou Ferrigno had a brief appearance as a security guard in 'Incredible Hulk'. Even without Bruce's interference, a cameo was most likely a sure thing.

I have to say, Simon Trent's acting isn't really all that bad, considering the scene he's in. I mean, if his character's helping to hold up the ceiling, he WOULD be speaking in short bursts, because he'd be straining his muscles trying to keep from being crushed. Such scenes are where melodrama is APPROPRIATE, and anyway, actors have gotten away with far worse in such movies. Look at the security guard at the beginning of 'Batman Forever', the one who gets trapped in the vault with Batman - that guy is like the biggest ham ever. ("Oh - oh NO! It's BOI-ling AA-CI-II-II-IID!")
