Community Rules

This comm is open to anyone to post codes, layouts, resources, tutorials, and requests for help and content. Of course, we do have some rules, so please read through them before jumping in; thank you!

■ Treat others the way you'd like to be treated. This is not a drama comm, and we expect you guys to be awesome and stay civil. If a situation gets out of hand, please contact a mod, and leave comments intact so we can accurately handle the situation.

■ Please tag your posts and check out the tagging guide if you have any questions!

■ Very long posts or posts formatted with your own div styling for organization should be behind a cut to save people's f-lists.

■ Work safe above the cut, please!

■ If posting codes, guides, etc. absolutely do not post content that you did not make. That's stealing, and it's super uncool, bro! If you are posting expanded/edited codes made by yourself using another user's coding as well, please be sure you have their permission (You do not need direct permission if they allow edits to be re-posted in their blanket rules.)
■ Do not post tutorials/links to tutorials that show people how to steal codes from other users. Again: Stealing. Not cool.
■ When asking for help with something, please check the help tags (help: coding, help: graphics, help: icons, help: layouts, help: other) first to see if your question has already been posted and answered to avoid duplicates.

■ We do not allow game ads to be posted on this comm since there are so many communities specifically for that already; if you're pimping a game as an addition to a regular post, that's fine. (OK: You post an RP code and mention in the post, oh hey, also I'm running this game! NOT OK: Posts dedicated to game promo.)

■ We do allow other types of community promos if they are related to RP (icon comms, other types of resource comms, etc.) Just shoot us a comment in our dropbox beforehand and we'll let you know if it's cool to post!

A while ago, I created [info]cdjs with the purpose of connecting CDJs with other CDJs. For the past 5 or 6 years, it's been dormant but rather than outright delete the comm I wanted to know...
A. Is there even a use for it or interest in it anymore? And...
B. If there is, would anyone be interested in maintaining it?

Ok so ages ago [info]stillskies posted about rp resources & what was missing. From that a group of us have gotten together to make a number of communities. While some are still in the works I'd like to direct you to a couple that I have.

[info]minority_pb - for the lesser icons pbs (40+, PoC etc)
[info]codehelp - somewhat like [info]rpresources but for help with the actual coding of layouts/in entry codes etc before they are posted for people to use.

Secondly!

I stumbled across the layout over at [info]bucky (so much love Tess) and it clued me in to what I was trying to do with my Current Cast which is to use [info]tessisamess's sticky nav to make each game's cast appear when I click on the anchor link.

I looked up w3schools for how to do Overlays as well as Stackoverflow and got the basic idea but they use javascript to do it and that's something I want to avoid. Does anyone have any ideas of how I can do it with CSS?



Is my code so far. I figured out the fade in code at least I think I have? Also for some reason my flex boxes aren't working????

I've been staring at this code for so long I'm going crazy. Halp [info]rpresources you're my only hope of not going insane!

Edit: [info]marlovian coded me something that will work once I get somewhere that I can upload it :)

I know similar communities exist, but I reserved [info]trademe ages ago and today I actually coded it up. The idea is just a place for people to dump their journal lists (the ones they're willing to let go of) for trade or giveaway, no selling. Also, no posting requests allowed because that's annoying. The comm is f-locked, but with open membership. I hope people get some use out of it!

A few years ago I made [info]fantasy_icons as a directory/resources like [info]pb_updates for all fantastical creatures (and sci-fi!). I'd love to see it get up and running again as it died off. So yes, just relinking it :)

Like making icons, but hate hunting down screen caps? Check out [info]capping for high-quality screen caps! I'm trying to focus on lesser-used faces and people of color, but I'm happy to try to find faces for all needs. Membership is open, and I take requests from icon makers!

CAP IT: YOUR RESOURCES FOR SCREENCAPS

Are you an icon or graphic maker? Do you ever get stuck trying to find screencaps of certain things? I don't know about you but I certainly do. With many of the communities on livejournal dying with the death of MegaUpload I thought I might be useful to have a resource here on IJ the home of roleplay in many ways.

[info]cdjs is officially opened thanks to all those that expressed an interest both here and at [info]rp_tutorials!

A random idea came to me about starting up a community geared toward the RPer with a CDJ or a main RPing journal where they can drop their CDJ/journal username, links to their characters, writing samples, and wanted storylines. I guess you could say that it could (potentially) be a massive archive? Would any anyone be interested in having that as a tool at their disposal?
