In a development that, in hindsight, feels almost inevitable, the barriers at Walker’s and on the edge of the UMCB and Capitol districts are overrun. At Walker’s grocery store, a stampede of frightened shoppers becomes easy prey for the shufflers on the scene. Though the situation is not out of control for long, casualties occur and several people are taken to quarantine. Downtown, the undead surge through the streets, grabbing pedestrians and halting traffic until, finally, they too are corralled.

For all intents and purposes, feel free to headcanon that this plot will wrap by 4:30PM this day.

After meticulous planning and tireless promotion the time had come. A banner was hung over the bar that read Be Bitten By Love in big bold letters, with gold heart streamers and red twinkle lights strung throughout the first floor of the bar. It all looked vaguely like the place was decorated for valentine’s day, but classier -- at least that’s what Demi would argue. The Bar was buzzing with excitement, the prospect of something fun and dare say almost normal seemed to have the staff in high spirits...if not the patrons taking part in speed dating that evening. The music playing in the background was quiet classical music, just loud enough to fill any silences that may fall between pairs, but not so loud that nobody would be able to talk over it. Upon entering the bar that evening participants were greeted by a smiling staff person, given a name tag and then lead to the section designated for their preferred preference. A couple waiters and waitresses were on hand and moving through the crowd taking drink orders and encouraging everyone to enjoy themselves! Once the evening began Demi and Cherry gave a brief rundown of the rules (the few that they had), mapped out the flow of the evening, explained that once the chime sounded it was time to move onto your next match and again encouraged everyone to take advantage of the evening and wished them all good luck.

After what felt like years of waiting but was only, in reality, two months, Rest In Peas is now finally open! Everyone in Austin is welcome to get some food and mingle in the open communal seating area, or spend some private time in the booths and tables to the side. Menu!

What: Spontaneous street party!

On the morning of July 9th, residents of the LBJ District awaken to find that during the night’s spate of vandalism, a hydrant has been busted. Enterprising residents from all districts, eager to take a break from the heat, throw an impromptu party in the street. After hearing word on the Freenet, Burger, She Wrote rolls up mid-morning to park at the party and serve burgers and fries. A documentary crew from the Capitol will also be present to chronicle the occasion.

Austinites are able to take advantage of the spray of cold water until mid afternoon, when a public works crew dispatched by the government to fix the problem arrives and soldiers, wary of that the increased noise might draw shufflers to crash the gathering, encourage everyone to go home.

Please note that as a result of the hydrant repairs, the water main stays inactive throughout the evening, ruining the plans of anyone who lives in the LBJ District to do anything that might require the use of water. Wanted a shower after work? Wanted to cook a pot of pasta for dinner? Tough toenails, folks. Full water usage will not be restored until 7/10.
