Who: Bea Rodríguez and Pikachu Garcia (with some Mia as well!)
Where: Garcia residence
What: while giving Mia shots earlier in the day everyone had a bit of a teary time so they hang out later to lighten the mood
When: October 3rd, afternoon to evening
This last month had felt like an eternity. All the zombie attacks and crazy work schedule and huge patient load and lockdowns from the rest of the city was enough to drive a person crazy when they happened individually, but combined all together, and Bea was amazed that the city had made it through with their sanity intact. After another long day at work, Bea returned home to shower and get ready for her evening with Pikachu. She’d actually already seen him today when he came to the clinic to get Mia’s vaccines taken care of, but it wasn’t like they’d had a chance to talk or hang out. And besides… there was a lot of crying going on and Bea would be damned if she let that define their interaction for the day. He was set to pick her up at any moment, and after tossing a few bottles of nail polish (blue, pink, mermaid green, and sparkles!) into her bag, she made her way downstairs to wait for him. That didn’t take long and she heard his motorcycle approach before he even had a chance to come knock on the door. Hollering to Dani that she didn’t need to wait up for her, she left the duplex and bounded her way over to where Pikachu was parking in the driveway. “Hey stud, think you could give a girl a ride?” She asked with a smirk. “Hey, sexy.” Letting the engine idle to more of a rumbling purr than a roar, Pikachu balanced the bike so he could reach over to pull Bea close enough for a quick kiss. Maybe he should've been embarrassed about his teary reaction earlier that morning, watching his baby try to brave face her way through a series of painful shots, but whatever. It seemed like a waste of time. “I don't think there's a person in the world that would say no to that,” he added, grinning at her. “I've got a ride for you anytime.” Shifting forward a little, Pikachu patted the seat behind him. “Go ahead and climb on. I'm pretty sure I promised you a nice, long ride before we get to my place. You still want that?” They had an evening with Mia between now and the opportunity to fulfill the promise of that ‘foreplay before foreplay,’ so he figured it couldn't hurt to check. “As long as you give me a nice, long ride later,” Bea replied as she climbed onto the bike, her arms going around his waist. A hand drifted down from his hip, down to his thigh, giving it a quick squeeze. She wasn’t looking to get him hot and bothered before they had to hang out with his daughter, but a little teasing wouldn’t hurt. It was just a small taste of what would come later. With her hands wrapped back around his waist, Pikachu started the bike and then they were off. True to his word, they took a winding route, Bea enjoying the rush of the wind as they made their way to his place. When they were done and parked, Bea moved off the bike and grinned over at him. “That was fun. We should definitely do that again.” “Any time.” Pikachu kicked down the stand for his bike before swinging his leg up and over to dismount. “Now we just need to go --” Before he could even finish the thought with ‘pick up Mia,’ the door to the house across the street opened and a small girl came rushing out. “You gotta look both ways!” Pikachu shouted, but she didn't even slow. There wasn't any traffic anyway, and if a car had been coming through, they could've heard it a mile away. When she reached Pikachu, Mia skidded to a stop and threw her arms around his waist. He tousled her ponytails, looking down fondly. “Hey, kiddo. I told you I wouldn't be gone all that long. Say hi to Bea too.” “Hi again, you mean.” Mia’s voice was muffled, but then she pushed back from Pikachu’s side and looked up at him. “I already saw her today, and you were there.” Her gaze turned to Bea, and the little girl smiled shyly. “Hi, again. Your top is really pretty. Do you like dogs?” “Aww, you're so sweet. Thank you, Mia,” Bea grinned down at the girl, smoothing out her shirt as she did. “And hi again to you too.” Despite the fact that they were into October now, it was still hot in Austin. Plus she'd wanted to look hot for Pikachu. It wasn't a scandalous outfit by any means, because she knew she'd be around Mia, but she was definitely showing some skin. Giggling a bit at the sudden change of topic, Bea nodded her head. “I do like dogs,” she said, following Pikachu and Mia into the house. “I never had a pet before but my aunt and my cousins had cats and dogs and they were always fun to play with. Do you have a favorite kind of dog?” They were met at the door by a fluffy ball of white fur that seemed to practically vibrate with excitement to see them all. Mia scooped the dog up and turned to Bea. “This is my favorite kind of dog, Squirtle. Dad says he's not specifically one kind, just the kind that's a pain in the --” “Neck,” Pikachu interrupted, earning himself a glare from Mia. He reached out to tousle her ponytails again, but she ducked away. “I was gonna say butt, that's all.” Mia looked back up at Bea again, who was clearly her preferred adult in the conversation. Behind his daughter, Pikachu gave a good-natured shrug. Kids, what could you do? “Dad doesn't say butt. He says something else. Do you know the word I mean?” Bea had to bite her lip to stop herself from bursting out with laughter. Why yes, she knew exactly what word Mia was referring to. When did kids get so sassy? She fucking loved it. Reaching out, Bea scratched the dog behind his ears and grinned. “I have an idea what that word might be,” she said, shooting a glance at Pikachu and winking before focusing on Mia again. “Squirtle is super cute., though I can see why he’s your favorite dog.” They moved further into the house, with her marveling at how nice it was. They’d really gotten a good deal on all this new housing because while it wasn’t like she could assume anything about Pikachu, there was no way in hell Bea could have lived in the place she did if things had been “normal”. “So, Mia, I brought some nail polish over. What do you say to a little mani-pedi sesh? Maybe we can even convince your dad that he should let us paint his nails too.” “Yes!” Mia started bouncing on the balls of her feet, at least until Squirtle reacted by wriggling and trying to jump out of her arms. Letting the little dog down, Mia turned and grabbed onto her dad’s arm. “You'll let us do your nails too, right?” Pikachu’s eyebrows raised slightly, and for a split second you could almost see the scales in his head balancing between yes and no. Fact was, for pretty much anyone else in the world it wouldn't have been a question, but Mia was a special case. Because it was weird, right? Nail polish didn't really go with the whole biker gang look. He glanced down at his hands, and found himself thinking almost inevitably about the things he'd done with them that were way worse than wearing a little glittery polish. “Only if it looks really, really pretty,” he said. Mia let out a squeal of delight and Pikachu couldn't help but grin. He looked over at Bea and shrugged. How could you say no to something that brought that kind of joy? “You two go set up on the sofa or at the table or wherever these things go down. I'll find you a snack, okay?” Giving Pikachu a fond look (because what could be sweeter than a dad doting on his daughter?), she smiled back at him, and after watching him walk to the kitchen, grabbed Mia’s hand to lead her over to the table. Flat surfaces were generally better with the tiny nail polish bottles that were oh-so-spillable. She dug out the four different colors of polish and laid them out for Mia to look at. “You can do whichever color your want. Or we could paint a couple different colors on your nails if you want to be really funky. It was totally all over Pinterest back in the day to have an accent nail.” Pointing to each bottle, she explained, “We have blue, teal, pink, and sparkles. What are you thinking, girlfriend?” One thing Bea really missed about Fox Grove and that community in general was hanging out with all the kids. None of them had been as old as Mia, but she’d always been good at things like this so she was happy that Mia seemed to like her just as much. By the time Pikachu brought the popcorn to the table, Mia had picked her colors -- teal, with pink for the accent. Her hands were spread flat on the table, fingers wide apart, and she wore the look of a kid who was using every ounce of self control to stay very, very still. He didn't need to ask to know what she was thinking -- a special treat like this was not going to be wasted in any way. Mia would savor every moment. As he sat down in one of the empty chairs well out of the way of their work, her gaze flickered in his direction and she broke out into a big grin. Yup, she was thrilled. “Thanks for this, Bea,” Pikachu said, turning his attention to their guest. Today had given him an interesting opportunity to see her in a new light. Not just the sexy, bubbly woman he'd gone home with after the speed dating, but also someone who was caring with patients and generous to a kid she'd never met before. He was glad to get the chance to know her better. And hey, maybe they'd end up friends to boot. Bea shook the nail polish bottles that Mia had selected as she glanced over at Pikachu, still grinning. “I’m happy to do it,” she said, her tone clearly genuine. This wasn’t just about being nice to his kid so she could get laid tonight. The nail painting itself went pretty well. Bea could tell that Mia saw this as a huge treat and she was doing her best to stay still. There would definitely have to be more nail painting in their future if something so simple could make Mia so happy. After giving very strict instructions for Mia to not touch anything for 15 minutes, Bea turned her attention to Pikachu and after a little debate (though she suspected that Mia’s puppy dog eyes were the real deciding factor) Bea gave his nails a coat of blue polish. Overall the afternoon was a lot of fun. Hanging out with Pikachu and Mia was just as nice as meeting him at Speed Dating and taking him home afterwards, though obviously in different ways. After dinner, Pikachu walked Mia over to the neighbors, and by the time he returned Bea had moved to the couch, sitting with her feet tucked to the side. “You’re totally pulling off that blue nail polish,” she grinned. Laughing, Pikachu held up a hand to wiggle his fingers. “Yeah, you think so?” He came over to drop down next to Bea on the couch, his smile staying in place at the sight of how comfortable she'd made herself while he was gone. “I actually don’t really mind it. They made us do shit like this all the time when I was prospecting anyway. I'd see guys balk at having to wear the sparkly helmet, like they thought putting it on would make their dick fall off or something.” Settling in, he stretched his arm across the back of the couch behind Bea and a moment later she shifted and leaned into him. His thumb traced the curve of her bare shoulder as they talked. “And there's nothing wrong with mine, as you know.” “Yes, I do know that,” Bea agreed very primly before her facade broke and she just ended up grinning at him. “But it’s been a little while since I’ve seen the proof so you might need to remind me just how functioning your dick is,” she said, a hand coming to rest on his thigh. “Unless there was something else you wanted to do tonight? I’m all ears.” “All I want to do tonight is you,” Pikachu replied easily, grinning back at Bea. His gaze dropped to her lips and then dipped lower to her tits -- hey, who could blame him? -- before coming back up to her eyes again. “I just spent hours watching you be hot and sweet and funny, all while I had to keep my hands to myself. That ride I promised you is the only thing on my mind right now.” He leaned in a little, but stopped a few inches short of a kiss. “How about we go upstairs?” Bea didn’t hesitate to close the space between them for a kiss, and once she pulled back, she laced her fingers with his as she stood. “Lead the way.” |
