Premise / Plot / Universe
Charlaine set the stage and created a world that is as limitless (or more so) as our own. Now it's our turn, to put our own creations into play in a new city. This game is player driven. The moderator is responsible for moving time and updating information, as well as guiding story arcs. But the players here will be shifting the plot, just as the characters in the True Blood universe change each others' lives and shape their world. If you have any ideas or desires for your character(s) or the game, please feel free to comment here on our wanted page. In the grand scheme of things, our stories will be based on the politics, trials and joys of the peoples in the True Blood universe. There will be provided plot for those who wish not to wander aimlessly, of course, and everyone will have events to react to. But you will get a chance to have a hand in the development of the story. You and your characters are important and we all deserve a say.
ST. LOUIS is the first city in Missouri (and the Midwest), so naturally it falls under the jurisdiction of the sheriff of area one. RUNS RED EGYPTIAN CASINO VAMPIRE RIVERBOAT CASINO / CRUISE There is a building, a paddle boat (named Red) and a cruise ship (named Bloody Merry). The games, bar and lounge are aboard the paddle boat and the larger, stationary buffet is docked in the on-shore building. Both the main building and the entire paddle boat (inside and out) are designed and decorated to reflect ancient Egyptian architecture and style. Think Caesar's Palace on a boat. The paddle boat is disguised as a Pharaoh's ship. The moderately-sized cruise ship offers customers weekend getaways (with gambling) and follows the design scheme of the rest of the business. It is the only ship of its kind on the Mississippi. It is owned and operated by the sheriff of area one. IMAGES MAIN BUILDING: entrance, buffet. PADDLE BOAT: bar, lounge. CRUISE SHIP: double suite, basic suite, grand suite, presidential suite, gym, lounge, dining, dining (alternate). (SEAMUS) MCDANIEL'S A strictly human-run bar. They do, however, sell Tru Blood. Menu. VOODOO 24-HOUR MINIGOLF Just like it sounds. When a local vampire staked a claim as partial owner, the whole park was revamped to allow for 24-hour service. They sell baseball park-esque refreshments (including Tru Blood). CHINA ONE A typical Chinese restaurant owned and operated by an immigrant Chinese family (the Changs). The deed owner is Lin, whose sons run a V-bank out of the back of the building. UNNAMED BLUES & JAZZ CLUB Coming soon.
This game takes place in St. Louis, but events that happen in the Sookieverse would eventually affect the characters in this area/time. We're following the show's timeline here, so events that have happened in the 4th-9th books have yet to occur within this universe.
Vampires are blood drinking former humans, risen from the dead to prey on the living, with a variety of diverse powers and abilities, individually and within society. In the mythology of the series the American vampires have divided the land into kingdoms, each state representing a monarchy controlled by a single lead vampire known as the King or Queen of the state. Each kingdom is then divided into areas (formerly known as fiefdoms) controlled by a sheriff who owes allegiances to the leader of the state. The vampires announced on network television that they were actually present among humans, an announcement followed by the Japanese development of synthetic blood that is able to maintain a vampire’s life without needing to feed on human blood. In the mythology of the series many nations refused to accept vampires as equal citizens such as Bosnia, Argentina and many Islamic nations. The United States, Mexico, Canada, Japan and other Scandinavian countries adopted a more tolerant attitude.[18] Though many vampires try to live among humans, they remain very secretive about their organization and government. Vampires are pale and cold, extremely strong and fast, and have keen senses of hearing, smell and vision. They have the ability to remain completely still, expressionless and silent. The fang comes out when they are sexually aroused, excited when they see blood or when they need to defend/attack. |
Weres and shapeshifters can assume both human and animal forms. A variety of different types of weres and shapeshifters exist in The Southern Vampire Mysteries, including Werewolves, werepanthers and weretigers. In this mythology, a were child (who will transform at the full moon) can be conceived when the parents are a shifter and a werewolf, but only pure couples (both Weres or both shifters) conceive children that can change at will. Shapeshifting conditions manifest in puberty. Shapeshifters can assume the form on any animal, but most often change to the same animal every time, some creature they have a special affinity for. On the other hand, wereanimals are those who can change to only one type of animal and they call themselves by that animal: weretiger or werepanther. Within the shapeshifting and Weres community, the term "Were" is only reserved for the wolves. The Weres consider themselves superior within the shapeshifters, but they all cooperate with each other. Unlike the vampires, shifters (to the public) are still in the dark about their existence. Werewolves (as well as other weres and shifters) are known to be part of packs/communes. |
