let the days creep up on you
Who: Keelin and Reggie
Where: Camelot Place
When: Early evening
"You should go over and see Keelin."
Reggie looked up from the small tree he was tending to and blinked at Sarah. She was stood in front of him with a serious expression on her face, one hand on her hip as she looked at him. "I'm sorry?"
"Keelin. You know, she lives across the hall and you've gone out with her like, three times or something." Sarah sighed and it sounded so much like Morgan that Reggie had to look a little harder just to make sure that she was still her. "Except for the past few days since your last date when you're not... you know, talking. What happened? You seemed all... happy."
This time Reggie shrugged and turned his attention back to the tree. He had been a little unsure of how to proceed after their date the other night both because of his referring to Keelin as his girlfriend and the run-in with Brandon. Reggie had figured that he would either see Keelin out in the hall or when he was at the school or when he had to return Pugsley because he was busy burrowing under his door and trying to steal his bacon... but none of that had happened. He had not seen Keelin once, and he had not heard from her either. Of course he could have gone over or texted or called... but Reggie had not done any of this in awhile. The last thing that he wanted to do was bother her and mess everything up worse than he probably already had managed to do. That was his own fault. "I think Keelin's really busy. I don't want to bother her."
Sarah rolled her eyes. "Seriously dad? Come on, you're smarter than that! She's probably waiting for you to say something!"
Now that did... it did not... Reggie looked up from the tree as a few gears in his mind started turning again. Sarah might be right. Or Sarah might be very wrong and it might be Reggie's fault after all so going over could be a disaster. I'll do it anyway. He just nodded as he passed Sarah, ignoring the 'finally' that he caught her whispering under her breath, and headed to Keelin's door. He still waited a few minutes before he raised his hand and knocked. By the time the door opened he had started to fidget and had one hand in his pocket. His smile was a little guarded when he saw Keelin. Really, he was just hoping that he was not making anything worse by showing up instead of calling. "Hey."
