Now if Keelin had stepped out in the hall to clean it then Reggie knew he would have been out there too to check on her. That was the sort of sign that not even the most dense of people would be able to ignore, and Reggie knew that he was not dense. Well, not all of the time. Sometimes he was a bit rockheaded but that was pretty much to be expected from someone who could turn himself into a rock. And he felt like he would be content to be still as a rock or a tree right then, sitting on the couch with Keelin and just Keelin. It was a comfortable feeling that he realized he really did want to keep. Which meant that he needed to remember to check in more often so that Keelin knew he was thinking about her. Right? Otherwise they might have more weekends like the last one and it would seem like he was only interested when they were going out on date's or kissing or talking about the girls... I need to ask Willow about that. Willow would know the best approach. Girls were good to get advice about girls from, right?
"Maybe." Reggie's smile was easy when he turned so that he could see her face. He even went so far to lean in and kiss the tip of her nose since she had put it right within his reach. And he tried to understand what she was saying about her sister, he did, but it was hard for him since this was not a topic he was well-versed on. "I'm sure she gets that you need time. I mean, if she came looking for you then she's got to understand that it's just going to be weird for you until you get used to the idea of her being there. Literally, right there." In the same apartment. "And I think it makes you a perfectly normal person." This time he brushed a kiss against her lips, smiling when he pulled back to tuck a piece of hair back behind her ear. "Really. I can't say I know anyone who would behave any differently in your situation. So don't beat yourself up over it. Everything will be okay." Or so he thought. Reggie preferred to just go and believe the best of people until he learned that maybe it was not the best of ideas. From his point-of-view, though, this other woman was Keelin's sister and Keelin was awesome so it had to be written into the genes. At least a little bit. He was conveniently ignoring how different Sarah and Bess were and they had been raised completely together.
