Oh. Reggie had not quite expected that answer and he automatically looked past Keelin just to double-check that there was not a woman he did not know standing in the kitchen or hallway or just staring at him with a look that said 'what are you doing here?' Now, if his sister had needed a place to stay then he would have definitely given her his couch, or bed while he took the couch since she would probably insist on that, but that was different. Reggie had not been separated from Crystal for any length of time and he suspected that if he had been then that would just be awkward. It had to be awkward. Obviously it wasn't easy or else she wouldn't have locked herself in here cleaning all weekend. "I think you're doing the right thing," Reggie said finally, managing to get a real smile on his face finally. Whatever else, Keelin was a good person and that was showing. Reggie could do nothing but admire that. Okay, he could worry a little that maybe something might happen to her or she might get hurt, emotionally seemed more likely, but overall he really had to admire her. Not everyone would just accept that sort of thing at what he assumed to be face value.
Pugsley's addition made Reggie crack a smile. "I don't think Tiger will do it, he probably doesn't want to hurt Keelin's sister." So that meant that Reggie was going to have to have a talk with the cat just to make sure that he started checking before he chowed down on mice that happened by. 'Make sure that they can't talk first' was going to become a rule. In fact now he was starting to think that maybe with a mouse familiar running around there needed to be checking done into where there were mouse traps... Reggie did not even realize that he had accommodated for Pugsley's roll by scratching at his belly now, but he did notice that Keelin's hand had somehow ended up on his knee. That made him swallow a little hard, but he shoved the thought away and focused on her. And then he had to shove another thought away because every time that he looked at the woman he had problems thinking about anything but how pretty she was. "I think that what's important, and I could be wrong because this isn't like anything I've ever been through, is trying. She can't expect anything more from you, right? Just that you try." His smile was reassuring and he had started to rub her shoulder lightly, though that part he was completely oblivious too. He did know that this was a lot better than any of the possibilities that he had been considering before he came over. Suddenly there sister beat 'really don't want to see you anymore' by a football field or more.
