"Good!" Reggie gave another scratch under the puppy's chin. Sarah and Bess would both be delighted to have the puppy come back over. They had kept busy, they had other friends to hang out with, but they really liked getting to spend time with Keelin's familiar. Tiger probably would have been jealous if he had not known that they absolutely adored him. Tiger, actually, had missed the puppy too. He would never admit it even to Reggie, but he could tell. "The girls will be thrilled. And you'll have to jump on Tiger because I'm sure he's been missing you too." Even if it turned out that the big orange cat had not actually wanted that... it would be funny. Everyone could always use a laugh. Though if Tiger had been there he would have been all too happy to point out that Reggie was definitely avoiding thinking about what he had come over here for. Pugsley was a good distraction. Until Keelin responded with an apology and a pinch of her nose. "No, it's fine..." This was not helping. Reggie still felt like maybe all of this had been a bad idea, but despite that he still sat down, though he shook his head at the offer of a drink.
Reggie blinked down at the pug now situated in his lap when he kept on talking. Judging by the fact that Keelin was not looking at him, he was just going to guess that he was saying these things without letting his witch on it. Normally Reggie would have been a little against that, but right now he was going with it because maybe this was information that he actually needed. Keelin was cleaning a lot. Why was she cleaning a lot? Was it because of what had happened with Brandon? Because of him? Something else entirely? How was he even supposed to ask that without giving Pugsley away? It does smell like cleaning solvent. Making up his mind, Reggie shifted Pugsley slightly, though he let the pug stay on his lap, and glanced towards Keelin. "So... how've you been? Other than cleaning the apartment so thoroughly that I think I could smell bleach from across the hall." That part was meant to be a joke. He even managed a weak smile to go with it.
