 The year is 1977. Voldemort has been gaining power and followers, but for the most part Hogwarts has continued to remain sheltered. There have of course been questions of disappearances and disturbances in both the muggle and wizarding world, and Voldemort has begun recruiting students from more influential families. There is no indication yet of exactly what scale all of this will eventually amount to, but things have begun to take shape, no matter how normal the Hogwarts staff tries to keep life at school. The Golden-trio is only marginally closer to solving the puzzle of victory than they were immediately following their beloved Headmaster's death. Muggleborns have been rounded up and held in cells at Azkaban. Those under the spell of the Complacens potion remain content with the government, but there are those who are beginning to fight it; those few that are beginning to build immunity to the potion and are assembling secretly underground. Where will you be when the world as we now know it burns to the ground? Will you continue to live under the draconian rule of the Dark Lord? Game opened on July 30, 2010. INCOGNITO is an Alternate-Universe Marauder Era game set in 1980. The Statute of Secrecy has been broken, and Muggle awareness of Wizards has added a third element to the First Wizarding War. Wizards are required by Muggle Law to abide by the "Magical Registration Act" so they can be identified, but the Ministry of Magic is lax about Muggle Law, not giving it the full, serious weight it deserves. What if he was somehow able to convince his friend Albus Dumbledore to accompany him--to seek out their ambition of taking over the world and controlling it for the greater good? The Neuen Assistentenauftrag presently controls the majority of the European continent, administered jointly by Chancellor Grindelwald and the Lord Protector Albus Dumbledore. The disciplinary excesses of the Chancellor seem to be held in relative check by the Lord Protector, who is regarded as fondly as the Chancellor is feared. Within the NAA, the highest offense is treason. Those who are able to conform to its laws enjoy the all the freedoms and privileges offered in the world free of the Statute of Secrecy. Britain's integration into the NAA in 1970 was the source of much division within the British magical population. Some argued in favor of allying for the economic benefits and the ideological tenants of egalitarianism within the wizarding community, while others protested yielded power to what appeared to be an increasingly dictatorial regime. In 1978, the British Ministry of Magic operates as a loyal satellite of the NAA. Territories of the NAA are secretly policed by a German-based military division, the Order of the Phoenix, who see little difference between dissent and disloyalty. Over the past few years, an underground resistance has begun to arise in England, a resistance whose acts are becoming increasingly more daring as the death toll of the NAA continues to rise. This is a game reactivation - all old plots will be treated as backstory. |

It's 1977; school's out for Summer, but this Summer feels strange... dark, somehow. It won't be long before school will start again, and Owls from Hogwarts are winging their way across the country with the promise of another perfectly normal year at Hogwarts. Homework will be piled on, the threat of looming exams being beaten into ignorant minds, but for now, at least, it's Summer, yet... something doesn't feel right. It's so much darker this year than it was last year. The days seem to be shortening beyond comprehension. The fog is thick and cold and constant, not to mention the fact that everyone seems so glum. There are disappearances being noted in the newspaper, but everything seems vague, as though someone knows what is going on, but too afraid to voice it aloud. The adults seem a bit on edge, uncertain how to handle the evil that is lurking in the shadows. The students, for the most part, are completely unaware of what is going on, even those whose parents are deep in the throes of swearing their allegiance to one side or another. The students, it seems, live in a world of their own, one untouched by the misery and doom of the outside world. Still, there seems to be something very unpleasant lurking unsaid, something creeping and crawling into the very veins of those it infects. Though there are only whispers, and people are afraid to voice their fears out loud, there are some things that cannot be fought. After all, it's difficult to feel protected by magic when the other side can use it, too. | |

Lord Voldemort attempted to attack Godric's Hollow to prevent the prophecy from being fulfilled; but, when the Order was tipped off about his plan, they were able to warn the Potters before Lord Voldemort could get to them. Instead, Lord Voldemort found himself face to face with Albus Dumbledore when he arrived at the village. Lord Voldemort, refusing to lose, lashed out with a violent curse that severely wounded both himself and Dumbledore. But when the attack did not kill the older wizard, the weakened Dark Lord ordered a mysterious lurker to finish off Dumbledore. With Albus Dumbledore gone, the Wizarding World waited with baited breath for Lord Voldemort to rise to power. Months passed and there was no sign of the Dark Lord's return. Rumors of his death spread like a wildfire and many attempted to gain back what they had lost to fear. Only the Order of the Phoenix remained suspicious and vigilant. |
