Hello everyone, are you all well? Today was incredibly beautiful, and thus I hope you spent your day in the warm sun. I am very sorry this is coming at such short notice, but I'm afraid my hands have been tied, and I assure you not in the literal sense. My birthday is this Friday, and rather than organizing anything particularly lavish, I had thought perhaps we could have a picnic in the park during the lunch hour. Pastries, finger foods, sandwiches, cold tea and the like.

If you should like to attend, please let me know! I miss you all terribly, and you will be in my thoughts if you cannot make this.

You are much better acquainted with Darius than I am, and I am unsure what gift to give him for his birthday. Is there anything in particular he has been wanting?

Additionally, I am planning for a lunch picnic in the park for my birthday on Friday, if you or Emily should like to stop by. [...] Do you think it would be very selfish to extend this offer to Darius when it is also his birthday and we do not quite share the same friends? I know he is somewhat reserved, and I fear the prospect of crowding him.
