Ms. Islington:

Regarding the consequences of your actions from the week prior, please see your punishment, outlined below. We have hope that you will use this time to reflect upon your decisions so as to better represent the interests of the guild in the future.

• Until Gemini 12th, you are confined to the tower grounds except in cases of emergency, as determined by the Council, or for religious services if you require such an exemption. Please arrange with any outside employers to take a leave of absence.

• A schedule of additional duties assisting with the maintenance of the Palings has been attached. You will be expected to report for duty for a minimum of four hours a day, five days a week.

• Finally, as thoughtless and childish actions are deserving of a suitably childish punishment, please report to the kitchens at 3:00 this afternoon. The head cook will outline for you your additional duties in the kitchen and elsewhere in the tower assisting with its cleanliness and upkeep for the duration of the month.

You may petition the council directly with any questions or requests.

Regards,
The Mages Guild Council

What exactly does carrying out one's duty to one's family entail? Is there a limit to it? Is there a point in which someone is allowed to object and carry on their way, or are we bound hard and fast to do as our family so dictates?

-- It is not so simple as walking away and ignoring the arguments, nor is it just 'do as you please'; to suggest both those things would be an insult to the difficulty of my situat [...] the problem issue.

I am asking genuine questions. I hope for, and expect, genuine answers.

Before you ask: no, I am not going to be switching to the Fighters' Guild any time soon. This is [...] something much worse.
