Hi. My name is djin7, and it's time to say a final goodbye to the Snarry Games.

( I would like to take this time to thank some people who really went above and beyond the call of duty during the last four years )

To the viewers, watchers, supporters and judges: We sincerely thank each and every one of you for your support. We are hopeful, thanks to your overwhelming response over the years, that our mission to keep Snarry vibrant, progressive, and to empower more fans to come aboard the SS Snarry will continue to resonate within the Harry Potter community that we proudly served.

We certainly hope that all of you reading this will remember the Snarry Games the way we will: with great fondness, as a tribute to what is truly the best and most diverse group of fen in the Harry Potter world. We encourage all of you to participate in the many fests that are currently available in the fandom, whether Snarry or not, and we hope that you will find many ways to inspire you once we are gone.

Since 2006, we have been blessed to feature the fiction and art shared with us by some of the most talented people this fandom can offer, and we can’t begin to express our gratitude for the work that they have produced for all to enjoy.

Thank you all for your loyalty, laughter and love.

Hey, everybody! I apologise for the delay in closing up the Games this round.

We have some final things to wrap up, and then we will make an important announcement about the future of the Snarry Games.

♥I really hope everyone enjoyed the 2009 Mixed Games, and I'd like to thank, once again, everyone who participated, from my Champions and mods, to the fans and judges. Thank you all so much!

Today we recognize the hard-won achievement and dedication of both authors and artists and their teams who strive for excellence in fanworks and Snarry. I know that every Champion worked hard for the good of their team and they all deserve highest marks for their efforts. We were all lucky to have won something during these Games. We designed this year's Games to encourage boldness, to try new things and set new standards, and we feel that all the Champions answered the bell admirably.

However, in the competition we set out to do, the Snarry Games Judges (you, the readers) have voted to score these teams, both having shown up to these Games with the most stellar of performances, allowing one to edge out the other for Gold.

Ladies and gentlemen, our GOLD MEDAL WINNERS, with a total of 1234 out of a possible 1350 points:

Dear Friends of Snarry:



This was an amazing year, with a new "mixed art and fic" format, and our largest ever. It once again showed that the most talented people are still within the Snarry fandom. We had 50 truly exquisite pieces of art plus 50 excellent stories, and as always – fantastic and entertaining Opening and Closing Games ceremonies!

Also, many Champions, past and present, helped this round of the Games with pimping and reccing, and commenting. Our hope always has been to help facilitate a sense of community in this fandom, hoping to keep the SS Snarry sailing through calm waters. When we see how fantastically supportive the champions are, whether author or artist, it makes all our hard work worth every minute spent. Thank you, all!

The scores are great, but the real reward for our Champions are the wonderful, thoughtful comments from the readers. At the Games, we are lucky to have thousands of comments, all of which keep this fantastic level of talent returning home to us.

The 2009 Mixed Fic and Art snarry_games are nearly over!

Yesterday we posted the last of a Grand Total of 100 entries! We are always pleased and awed by the overwhelming response and support of this project, and would like to thank everyone who has been involved. The Champions, the mods, the volunteers, the voters and judges, the reviewers and reporters, the affiliates. Thank you all!

We now move into our final voting phase. We will be giving everyone until Sunday, September 27 to finish their voting. The polls will remain open* until that time, and then will be closed to allow the Mods to begin the counting process.

*You can also take this time to edit your votes, if necessary. It is easy to edit your poll: you can change your answer by clicking on the poll #, and then clicking the [ Fill-out Poll ] link at the top. Don't forget to click on "submit poll" to save your answers after you've changed them.

Here you will find the Master List of all the submissions to help guide you to the entries that you may have missed during these 50 days of posting!

Do not think the community will be idle, there will be special treats coming up in our Closing Games Ceremonies. Both Team Cauldron and Team Snitch have some great things in store for you, including outtakes, bloopers, drabbles and drawbles and more!

2009 Snarry Mixed Art and Fic Games are about to begin!


The 2009 Snarry Mixed Art and Fic Games will officially begin posting tomorrow morning, on August 1, 2009.


We will post TWICE a DAY, one entry per team - CAULDRON & SNITCH, until all the entries are in: 100 in total!

At the end of it all, we will allow approximately one week for the judges to have time to catch up on their voting for the Games entries. After that, we take the polls down, and the mods will begin the count. During the voting Hiatus, there will be more entertainment, stay tuned.

**There will be NO DAILY POSTS at our Livejournal community.

However, we have a Livejournal RSS FEED over there that people can watch for real time updates. We will be cross posting weekly RECAPS at Livejournal as well.

Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to submit to the Snarry Games (to be posted during the Opening Games) any or all of the above, using the challenge parameters.
