The Snarry Author & Artist Games will officially begin posting on November 1, 2014.

The Polls will be up by November 3, 2014 and will remain up until November 15th.

This is where the Snarry Games has made a major change in format. Each CATEGORY will have its own poll, and it will look like this:

Community Rules on Chan and Extreme content

Due to the legal implications of chan to many members, the

snarry_games community will NOT allow chan explicitly depicting anyone under the age of 18 yrs in sexual situations in art, or under the age of 17 in fiction. Regardless of how each individual may define chan amongst themselves, for the purposes of the Games and the protection of our participants and watchers, this is how we have chosen to define it.

Please note that this rule is for sexual situations. If your story or art does not contain explicit sexual situations, then the age of the characters does not affect you. However, if you are unsure, or feel that your story or art might be borderline, please contact the mods and we will be happy to answer any specific questions or concerns you may have.

Do I have to warn for character death or extreme content?

The Snarry Games warns for character death and extreme content. We simply use a format where the warning is invisible, like this:

Warnings: Drag mouse over space if you wish to know: * Major character death. Torture. Extreme violence. *

This way prevents anyone from seeing anything that they do not want to see, such as spoilers.

Anything that the artist and author wish to warn for voluntarily can do so, feedback over the years have indicated that the following should be warned for: Non-Snarry pairings and het.

Do I have to do adult or explicit work? Of course not. We welcome and encourage all ratings here.

How do I submit my art/story to the mods? How do I send it?

You do not! We are not posting in the community this year unless you are unable to post it yourself: the point of this Games is to get people to come back to Livejournal (et al) in order to participate in an LJ reunion. See the How/What/When/Where/Why FAQs post here.

Each entry is to be posted on YOUR Livejournal if possible (or IJ, DW, Tumblr or even your own website/archive, as long as it is publicly accessible for voting/polling purposes.) Posting date is November 1, 2014.

You must send the Mods your link when it is done, so we may add it to the polls (even if it is locked until Nov. 1).

Optional - particularly if you wish reader age restrictions on your fanwork: AO3 (Archive of Our Own) – 2014 Snarry Mini-Games Collection (Tag/Link - AO3 Snarry Mini Games Collection). If you do not have an AO3 account, you can easily get an invite here: AO3 Invite Requests (Don't leave it to the last minute!)

What header information do you require?

We would appreciate the following to be included in the header for your entry:

For DRABBLES - 100 words per drabble, max of 10 drabbles per entry (1000 words max):

FOR FICLETS: Mini-fic from 500 to 2000 words max; poetry and filk acceptable for this category.

For FICTION: Story from 2000 words and up (no limit). Story can include original art/fanvid done for this competition (see collaborations).

For ART: All types/forms of original art accepted. Fanvids are allowed (see fair use). NO: manips (of other's works/or photos), no playlists (songlists).

Please cut and paste from the appropriate text box.

IMPORTANT HINTS and NOTES:

Please use an lj-cut/read more when posting, and spare your f-lists.

You can post your entry under a private lock until the November 1, 2014 entry date.

Please send the link to the mods as soon as possible so we can gather them up for the polls. Even if you post at the moderated AO3 account, please email the mods to tell us you have done so, so we can keep track on our Spreadsheet of Doom (tm)
