PSA: Duo/Pair collaborations - FIND YOUR PARTNER HERE
Hello friends of Snarry, I hope this weekend finds you all well and happily entertaining bunnies for the mini Games for November 1st!

I've been asked by a few folks in the last week about the following:

a) Duo/pair collaborations are allowed

and

b) Maximum Two (2) entries allowed per participant (person or duo/collaborators)

COLLABORATIONS: In past games, we have allowed the sign up of pair collaborators, and are doing the same this Games. All this means is: we accept single entries from collaborative pairs, whether artist/writer, writer/writer, or artist/artist.

MAXIMUM ENTRIES: Two entries maximum per participant means: If you do a collaboration, as above, you can submit two entries together.

Or you can submit one entry as half a pair, and one entry as a sole participant.

You cannot submit more than two entries for the Snarry Mini Games, in total, regardless of chosen category(s).

Thank you!!

Snape/Harry Reunion by [info]chibitoaster!

I've been asked if we can provide a place where single participants can be matched up with others in a collaboration. Perhaps an artist who wants a writer for a comic or a writer who wishes a co-author.

To that end, we will be PINNING this post to the Livejournal Community Find Your Partner so that like-minded individuals can connect to one another.

Posting in your own journals and other communities (if allowed) is also encouraged, we are in this for the reunion, after all!

I'm a little confused. I'd like to participate, though I can only make manips for art. Am I to find someone who'd like me to make manips to go along with their fic or will I be sorted/given a partner with which to make manips for?

All manips are specifically excluded from the Games, sorry! Here is the post with the rules, posted last week: http://asylums.insanejournal.com/snarry_games/269366.html#cutid3

That said, you don't have to partner with anyone, this is just a link to a post where you may be able to meet someone to do so if you want to.

Oh. Well shit. That's about all I can do. I don't trust myself to write fic -- it will be awful. (I've never written any HP fic that I've been satisfied with the characterization with.) As for artwork, I haven't drawn anything in 7 years, so that's off the counter as well. Well, poo. Oh well. Thanks for letting me know! :)

Do you do vidding? We accept vids.

How about poetry, haiku or limericks? Drabbles? Take a look and give it a try!

You never know. :D

I don't know. I haven't tried vidding anything since I was in my first years of high school about 8-9 years ago. I don't know, it might be an idea... I certainly cannot do poetry (I'm not a fan) and even a drabble is beyond my capabilities for characterization (at least for HP fandom, I don't know why, but I can never characterize Snape quite right).

Maybe a fanvid. I love them... is there a restriction on length? It surely wouldn't be very large.

We haven't restricted fanvids except for the fair use rules.

In other words, as long as it's legal, we are happy to accept it. There is always restrictions on what you can or cannot use in a fanvid (that would get it removed from youtube, say), so you need to consult a fanvid community or similar for those rules if you aren't familiar. I suggest consulting [info]chaeche aka Akemi42 for details. (http://www.akemi42.com/)

Wait, how wouldn't it be legal? o___o I see tons of HP videos all over youtube -- have over a hundred bookmarked/favorited and they've never been removed? All I can imagine is choosing the wrong music and having them mute it? To be fair, I'm not even sure what I'm supposed to be asking? >.>;; This is unexpectedly complicated.

I am not certain on the details, which was why I suggested asking Chaeche, she may have a checklist or similar. If you submit a video for the Games, and it's taken down by youtube for some kind of breach, you can see the issue that would cause us.

I don't think it's complicated, it's just something that requires a little research.
