Arkham City: a controversial supermax prison for the patients and inmates of the original Arkham Asylum, and Blackgate Prison. Why is there controversy? This project is led by the enigmatic Professor Hugo Strange. His goal: to divide Gotham City into two. The law-abiding citizens, and the criminals. To the citizens of Gotham City, this Professor Strange was previously unheard of. Who, exactly, is he? Where has he come from? And just how was he able to convince Mayor Quincy of Gotham City into accepting this immense project? Professor Strange was not alone, however. Accompanying his project was TYGER; an elite special forces unit, trained especially for the Arkham City project. Their purpose is to serve as the prison's correctional officers and guards, enforcing Professor Strange's regulations. There are no definite requirements for a Gothamite to be incarcerated in Arkham City. Rumour is, that petty thugs, drug-dealers and mob bosses are not the only ones eligible for a prison sentence. If the Professor simply doesn't like you, you are qualified enough. Prisoners are unceremoniously thrown into this walled-off region of Gotham, and are left to fend for themselves. Food crates are regularly deposited in certain districts and at specific times throughout each day, but it's up to the inmates themselves as to how it is distributed. Ordinary, everyday commodities have become treasures, and many are prepared to do what it takes to secure such valuables. Many gangs roam the streets, and viciously guard their turf from one another. There are only a handful of regulations to comply with, and if not adhered to, the consequences are... deadly. One thing is for certain, in this squalid sector. |

Apokolips is here. Or at least, it's most important resident: Darkseid. And he will not rest until he has drive humanity to turn against itself, one by one, killing each other and destroying their fighting spirit as he watches from a distance, waiting for them to be weak enough so he can take over and make this planet his. His plan started in Metropolis, Kansas, where his biggest opponent was often seen. Clark Kent, son of Krypton has defeated him before, in other Earths and he is determined to stop it from happening again. To begin, he brought in the one known killer of Superman: Doomsday. In hopes that he would be enough to get rid of him and set things in motion. But Doomsday had, apparently failed. Clark Kent was missing, but Darkseid knew he was not gone. In an attempt to bring in more of his enemies, to weaken him and those who aided him in defeating Doomsday himself, Darkseid unknowingly ruptured the barrier between the Earths, causing more than just the people he chose to be pulled to Metropolis. People who might help his cause, and others, who will join the fight against him. ________________________________________ Apokolips Now! Is a panfandom RPG based on the Smallville fandom, although you don't need to know anything about that fandom in particular, your character will arrive in Metropolis, Kansas as that is where the rupture in the multiverse was made by Darkseid. Upon arrival, s/he will be standing in front of the Public Library of Metropolis, a block to the right will be Watchtower and a block ahead, The Daily Planet. It will be your choice whether or not your character will recognize these locations or where they will choose to go to make the first contact with the natives or other transplants to get settled in. |

At the end of the world, the stars went dark. Astronomers were baffled; never in recorded history had so many stars disappeared so quickly. Some thought it signaled the end of the world, some thought it was only just another part of the cycle of the universe, but for all their studies of the phenomenon, an answer always remained out of reach. And then the world's heroes started to disappear with them, across time, across space, from Krypton to Venus and everything in between. Then the villains. And then one by one regular people turned up missing as well. No farewell notes, no last goodbyes-- it was like the mystery of Roanoke only without even a single word carved into a tree as a clue to where they'd gone. Our story picks up in a new city, one like those you might remember and yet not, filled with a multitude of unmemorable bodies and now, of late, the disappeared. No-one knows why they're here, what the purpose of this all is, if there is any at all, or even where "here" is, but one thing they do know is they can't leave. Welcome to Metro City. |
