[The Doctor has something on his mind, Marina, and it's something that he doesn't want to keep to himself. Is it important? Who knows? The Doctor could write a thesis on the significance of toothpicks if the mood struck him. What is important is that the Doctor is in the mood to share, so on goes the communicator, and he's off, following the latest tangent to get stuck in his enormous Time Lord brain.]

Spring cleaning! Well, all right, winter cleaning. It's a brilliant idea, seasonal cleaning. Spend a day or two picking up all of those odd jobs you left off doing until you can't ignore them anymore. I never do spring cleaning, or winter cleaning, or cleaning in any other season you might think of. Too domestic. I'm rubbish at domestics. Besides, have you ever tried to clean a time ship that's bigger on the inside from top to bottom? It's next to impossible. You'll forever be missing rooms that she's moved about and getting lost in the archived sections and distracted by stuff.

[Believe it or not, he actually did stop to breathe once during the entire speech, but only once. Respiratory bypass systems: they're dead useful when you don't want to stop talking long enough to top off your oxygen supply.]

Alright, Acumen.

[No, Simon has not read the pamphlet. He hasn't even seen the welcome basket. All he needed was the welcome message to be provoked. He doesn't realize that this won't get him in direct contact with Acumen. He probably doesn't care.]

JUST WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM!?

[You can't keep the leader of Team Dai-Gurren down, not when he's got a fiancée to save. As far as Simon's concerned, this is all he has to say. But he still decides to add something to that.]

You know it -- my name is Simon. Simon the Digger, and leader of Team Dai-Gurren. And if you think that you can stop me - stop us - then you're wrong. I don't care how far below the ocean we are, or if you think separating me from the others and Gurren Lagann will stop me, you're completely mistaken. Don't underestimate me. Don't underestimate us!

I will find her, and I will save her. I will fight like hell, and I will never give up!

[Blah blah FIGHTING SPIRIT!!!!!!!!!!!!]

[And then after a minute, his voice lowers. It's much more somber, and only a few notches over a whisper, but that determination is still present.]

Wait for me... Nia. I'll find you. I'll get you back.

[ Get out of there, droid. The Pet Cafe is for kitties and doggies and bunnies, not for astromech droids. You aren't even an organic lifeform, so what are you doing with kitty ears and a tail? You may think that you're a kitty, droid, but I bet no one would like it if you tried to curl up on their face. You shouldn't try that, you aren't even fuzzy. ]

MEOW.

It's getting cold again. Can't we just skip the crummy weather and go back to summer?

[ she just 'tsks' to herself though, too tired to go on her usual rant. ] Guess I can't go running outside anymore.

...I miss getting to do stuff. I miss fighting.

[ seated outside the coffee shop and wearing a ridiculous amount of scarves. it's like she's expecting a hurricane instead of the slight chill. ]

This is not amusing!

[Azula could almost break the communicator with the amount of manhandling she's doing to it out of sheer frustration. She's pissed and she has to know a few answers.

She looks completely out of breath - like she's been training all day. Which, to be honest, she has, but even that doesn't usually tucker her out like this.]

Anyone will do-- anyone useful. If Acumen is able to bring us here with little to no effort, I assume Acumen also possesses other capabilities. Those restraints, for one, must be of his own invention.

And now that I have been released- my bending has been more or less returned to me.

However.

There is a slight problem. And anyone who may also have experienced problems with-- powers may come forward. I'm sure it has been such a frustrating experience for you, and I understand completely.

[ This is just a video of Miwako - no cats here! No sir! She looks a little frenzied, but trying to look "natural" and joking~ ]

H-Hi again, everyone!

Ha ha ha! April Fools! Except it's autumn now... Oh no... Uhm-

Mi-Miwako didn't actually get a cat! That was a lie! It was a fake cat, so just so you know, it can't be hurt or kicked or anything so you shouldn't even bother trying. I was just joking! So all the bad guys and cat-haters can rest assured that there's not actually a cat here, so you can't get him, okay? And even if there was actually a cat, I wouldn't let you get him! But there isn't a cat, so don't worry about it!

[ Somewhere off-screen, you might hear a quiet meow, which sets Miwako's teeth on edge. She looks a little frantically at the camera as if it can tell her if that was actually recorded or not, and then hastily cuts the feed.

Miwako is the worst liar ever. ]

Getting cold again. So - what, does this mean Halloween's coming up? Hope no one's planning on throwing another big ass party. [flexes her hands] Yeah yeah, parties in prison? Newsflash newbies, that's all we do around here.

[is she complaining about parties? her brow wrinkles a little.] Anyway, I'm bored. Anyone have any awesome stories to tell? And none of that philosophical, fairy tale kind of shit. Real stories like, war stories, or - dusting vampires stories. [helpful pause] There has to be someone here who's kicked ass before.

[The feed goes to a little boy sitting in a corner, knees to chest and behind him is a semi-messy bedroom, but that's because it hasn't been finished getting fixed. But, there's a reason for it--and here's where you see Yuta wipe his arm across his lightly damp cheeks. No, those weren't tears, or at least he wouldn't admit it.]

[And a question from this melancholy little boy]
Does anyone here still have a family? What were they like? Do you miss them?

[What a thing for a criminal to ask, right?]

I don't think I can actually stand another day of this... [ His voice is strained as he tries to catch his breath. ] I know this is supposed to be some kind of a prison, but this... This is excessive.

[ He pauses, then adds: ] Not everyone that was here yesterday is here today, at least... It's weird when I think about it. I know why I'm stuck like this, but I don't understand what other criteria people are held to when they're chained like this; it doesn't really add up. There wasn't really a binding similarity in the kind of people we are.

...I guess it doesn't matter once we're released, though, does it? Aside from all this, everyone seems pretty free...

[The video comes on to show the face of a young girl. Her face is calm but her disheveled hair and the spots of dried blood on her forehead are rather conspicuous.]

Thank you for the pamphlet.

[There's a noticeable pause here, and when she speaks again her voice is a little less controlled. A bit heavier.]

Is Madoka Kaname within the facility?

[Because she has to try.]

[Touma was on a mission. He was determined to figure out the reason why some people had restraints and others didn't. Talking with a few people recently got him thinking about it, so he was now walking around the prison, approaching people and asking them what their crimes were and if they had been restrained when they arrived.

He had a notebook with him, though he wasn't writing in it when he was talking to people. That was too obvious. However, if you caught him between questioning periods, you might catch him making generic notes on statistics. No names, so no worries, just numbers and rough ideas right now.

He was wandering around Sector 4, so he'd be anywhere around there all day.]

Oh, how adorable. Really, the first ten minutes were quite charming. I'm still impressed someone managed to get me down here for a supposedly elaborate and ingenious little prank.

Because it isn't proper to actually imprison a princess, as I'm sure you're aware - especially the princess of the great Fire Nation. I could crush you all with a wave of my hand before you could even begin to bow before me and beg-- however, I'm feeling... generous today. I'm a forgiving princess, after all. I'm kind. I will even humor you!

[A pause as she clears her throat.]

Ha ha ha!

[The laugh sounds...almost psychotic with a mix of awkward. But in her mind she is laughing at the joke! It's funny! She's amused!

She stops abruptly.]

But I trust you all know when a joke goes too far- so I'll spare you the effort and end it for you. Now-- come forward. I expect a full report. And since you transported me underwater in the first place, it should be no problem for you to get me out.

HELLO, MARINA. I'M R2-D2.

THE INCLUSION OF DROIDS HERE SEEMS TO INDICATE A LACK OF AN APPROPRIATE ALGORITHM FOR DETERMINING THE SEVERITY OF CRIMES AND APPROPRIATE PUNISHMENTS. BASED ON AVAILABLE DATA, THERE IS A 64% CHANCE THAT I AM HERE MERELY BECAUSE THE WARDEN IS LONELY.

HE'S CUTE, BUT MY PROFESSIONAL OPINION IS THAT HE'LL PROBABLY PLAY HARD TO GET.

[ This voice is both annoyed and confident. She's not pleased to be here, but she's not going to let anyone know that she's a little uncertain too. ] I am so tired of being kidnapped. I mean, at least these people are better at it than the last ones, but this whole thing is just sad. I can't believe I've been arrested again. I didn't even feel them coming. [ There's a pause and then she repeats it to herself again, as if disbelieving. ] Didn't feel a thing...

Plus, I want to know who came up with these charges. So I put a few holes in the wall and ran away from people who tried to lock me up. No one mentioned that I helped save the world too? Doesn't that count in my favor? Maybe Katara would like this underwater thing, but I'm not buying it. [ She's a bit sulky, don't mind her. There's another hesitation, because she's letting her irritation get away with her, and finally she sighs and makes herself sound more cheerful, more normal. ]

At least the food in the basket was good. What kind of prison has a welcome committee?

This one, I guess. So, tell me, strangers, what are you in for?
