As you all know, the last months have not been kind to our city. So far, the guilds of Emillion have managed to resolve every crisis by joining forces against the enemy, yet we have no assurance that the worst is behind us. Should a new threat arise, it is our duty to be as well-prepared as possible in order to protect the safety of Emillion and its citizens.

With this purpose in mind, a new branch is to be created within our guild. Just as the Fighters' Guild gave rise to the Emillion Knights of the Peace, so shall a taskforce be selected from among the members of the Mages' Guild. This taskforce shall be our guild's response to any future threat that may endanger the city.

Those interested in applying are encouraged to contact me, Councilor Toku Matsudaira, either via this network post or personally if they so prefer. Applicants should be fully-fledged mages (no scholars allowed at this time). Mission experience is not a requirement; any who pass the field test will be invited to join. I will be spearheading this strike force for the time being, and the field test will be conducted under my supervision in two weeks’ time. Applicants’ practical magic skills will be tested, in order to evaluate their suitability for high-risk missions as this strike force may be expected to tackle.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I will answer to the best of my ability. As usual, I keep an open-door policy, so if you would rather meet in person, I am sure such could be arranged.

It's not like I have to go train tomorrow morning unless I really want to. I did help save the city a few days ago.

First of all, thank you all for volunteering for this mission. The safety of Emillion and its citizens hinges on its success, as no doubt you understand. We have been able to pinpoint the location where the herb may be found, and believe it would be best to launch this mission as soon as possible. The details are as follows:

Volunteers will leave from the Aerodrome at 6:00AM on Saturday, Sagittarius 8. Dress warmly; the journey will lead you to the Emillion mountains, so please remember to take the weather into account. Volunteers will fly partway there, but as the site cannot be directly accessed by airship, volunteers will need to be prepared to walk and camp at least one night. Camping supplies (bedrolls, tents, etc.) will be provided free of charge, as will healing potions.

Hello, my dearlings; I do believe I've found something. The Council is readying the war drums, but in the meanwhile I thought it best for us to confabulate on the matter.

I was in the library digging up anything on mystical toxins from the days of yore, and -- I kid you not -- I managed to find a dusty, rotten first edition of the Mortissima by Amarinta von Hapsfeldt, a very rare volume you no doubt read excerpts from in your white magick classes. I didn't even know we had a copy in the tower! It must be worth a fortune, even in such a dilapidated state.

The original printing has all of her case studies and appendices, things I've never seen before -- and there's a very interesting account that reads like what we're experiencing here. The long and the short of it is that while I haven't identified the illness per se, Lady Amarinta speaks of an herb she calls the 'all-salve'. Whatever it is, it grows only in a very specific region of Ivalice, and it's guarded by some kind of horrible monster. Isn't that always the way? But if we defeat the beast and bring the all-salve home, we may be able to do something about this plague.

On behalf of the council, I've two favors to ask.

First: if you believe it possible, we would like for you to attempt to create an antidote for the [...] Outlands plague, Cormac. Compensation for materials and time will of course be provided. While we realize the attempt may be fruitless due to the unique nature of the illness, we nonetheless feel as though it ought to be made.

Second: please put together a comprehensive list of signs and symptoms as you witnessed them, as well as treatment information and timelines. This may become necessary and I would prefer to have the white mages of the city prepared in the event of an emergency.

The Council has received a request from the village of Cammon in the Outlands for two white mages to be dispatched urgently to evaluate a mysterious illness which has besieged the populace. Financial remuneration will, of course, be provided to those who volunteer to make the journey.

There is a great need to identify and stop this unknown sickness before it spreads further. Please contact myself or Merrion Priddy at your earliest convenience if you are willing to undertake this assignment. We would like to meet personally with volunteers before their departure.

I am writing to inquire whether any Ranger patrols are scheduled in the next day or two to travel in the direction of Cammon in the Outlands. If yes, would it be possible to send two mages along with them? I believe they can more than make up for the inconvenience with their utility against any obstacles encountered.

If not, could you recommend a seasoned individual with a good knowledge of that area whom the Mages' Guild might hire as escort? Our two representatives must leave as quickly as possible, and I am not yet certain of the duration of their stay.

For those who are not already aware: a faculty show, Cathedrals Throughout Ivalice, opened to the public earlier this week at the University's gallery e. Ever humbling and fascinating how cultural and architectural differences are evident across the different continents and yet, all are Houses of Faram.

The pleine air paintings are indeed a sight; I do recommend a visit if one would like something to do this weekend.

Whomever thought it would be simply hilarious to book a healing appointment for one 'Hugh Jabosoms', thank you for that sterling waste of my time.
