When her feet touched the ground, Koriand'r knew she had made a mistake.
She looked down the empty street at the flickering, neon Pepsi sign. This was not where she had planned on landing. This was not the destination she'd seen growing closer on her descent through the atmosphere. Shadows stretched from the corners of tall buildings that looked only vaguely familiar. Koriand'r did not understand. What city was this? And how had she made a mistake?
A few people passed on the other side of the street, but their faces looked unkind. She would not bother them. Earth was good about giving information and Kori knew there were maps and television sets in almost every little store in a heavily populated area. Maybe if she found a little store, someone might be able to tell her where she was.
She started off towards the Pepsi sign. That was a drink she remembered. It was all too sweet and fizzy for her, but some of the other Titans seemed to have had no problem drinking entire bottles of it.
The thought of her friends made her walk a little faster. The sooner she found out where she was, the sooner she'd be able to find them. It would be a relief to see faces from her past that weren't annihilated, dead...gone.
