Greetings from London! It's very nice to be home, even if it's only temporarily. London here is pretty much exactly like my London. I even found a sight that made me quite happy.

Now I only wish Sherlock and John and Mrs. Hudson were inside, but it's nice to know that even with the differences in worlds it's still the same door and the same building.

And I suppose I should have asked before I left, but does anyone want anything while we're here? You won't get it until around the fifth, but I'm willing to pick up anything people want, even if I have to buy another suitcase to lug it all home.

So, I wished for the cabin. You know, the one we spent Christmas our last year in school? The one where Dimitri and me I even got the pond to come with it, so we can go skating and I thought maybe we could do Christmas there this year. It won't be the same as being home, but maybe it'll help.

So I made the flight reservations. The first flight leaves at nine on the 26th and it will take nine hours to get there. I specifically made sure we aren't flying coach. I haven't made the hotel reservations yet, mostly because the hotel I would like to stay at, The Bloomsbury, only has single bed rooms. They're large beds, so we would have space, but I just wanted to make sure that was all right.

It's technically a mommy and me group but there were definitely dads there when Aislinn and I did it. It's fun, you sing songs, they get to play and make noise. I think you'll enjoy it.

Aislinn's second birthday is on the 25th and we were thinking of throwing a party for her on Saturday the 27th. She's finally old enough to grasp the idea of presents and I'm not turning that down. Even though she'll probably think Christmas is one big party for her, too.

That being said, Graham and I are at a standstill. We can't decide on a theme. She likes Frozen but that's out because she doesn't need the reminder her friends are gone. Princesses and pirates are a no go for obvious reasons. As are most things Disney. She gave up on Sophia the First and I like Doc McStuffins but there isn't much party stuff out there.

Keeping in mind cost isn't an issue... Help?

As you all should probably expect right now, the Lawrence Youth Center is having a winter celebration. Not calling it Christmas because ha, not dealing with the PCness. Besides, I spin a mean dreidle.

So we'll hold it on December 20th and, as always, you're all invited. I can also use volunteers but I really just want everyone, especially those of you with kids, to get a chance to enjoy yourselves. We'll have Santa there, hopefully some entertainment (still pulling a few strings), games, and a white elephant gift exchange. Not for any particular holiday, cough cough, but who doesn't like gifts?
