It's either someone drugged me or Doctor Whack-a-Doodle really did invent teleportation in his sleep and took me with him. I've gotta say, I think I'm more comfortable with the sleezy dude in a bar option.

California is awesome. Being sucked into a parallel world with the actual Devil and his demons roaming the streets? Not so much. Okay, I grew up in Nebraska so the church thing was a big deal, but it's...supposed to be metaphorical or something!

You feel like you passed too many drinks a dozen back, can't stand, can't see straight, your limbs won't listen to your head, and then you wake up missing clothes and no idea where you're at or what happened. Seriously, avoid that.

I've always wanted to go to California. Yeah the demons suck. And the other weirdo stuff that happens here mostly sucks, too. Church was a big deal for me back home too. I mean, when I was a kid. Not anymore.

Nice to meet you, too, Pete. And yeah, that's sort of where I was going in an oh-so-subtle-except-not-at-all way. Do they think you're a pretend person in this universe?

For the record, I am great with children. I can juggle lots of things at once and have a ton of patience. ~~And years of practice with grown men who may as well be kids.~~ Are you looking for a baby-sitter?

Not exactly...but I know there's an opening for a long-term substitute at the primary where I work; one of the third grade teachers is going on maternity leave ~~must be something in the water~~ in a few weeks. Falsify some documents and I can put in a good word if you feed me some to give.

Wouldn't hate some more displaced as colleagues, yeah? Least then there's someone else about in the prof lounge I can talk to about this place. These lot see things the rest of the town prefers to turn a blind eye at, see.
