Well, my opinion matches the rest, I'm afraid. Apocalypse and all.

Hi, Penny. I'm Oliver. Nice to meet you.

Hey, a consensus is a good thing, right? Apocalypse, not so much, but things are looking up. say, six feet off the ground up

It's really nice to meet you, Oliver. You know...you look kind of familiar but I'm having a brain fail. You wouldn't happen to also be from a TV show, by any chance?

I think generally speaking, it is, yeah. But yeah, the apocalypse definitely isn't looking up.

Ah, that's probably that whole fictional person thing coming in to play. My face twin apparently starred on some show called Smallville.

I have no idea what help I'm supposed to be in the fight against Hell or whatever, but at least team Heaven has superheroes on their side. I figure that gives them- us? - anyway, that's gotta be an advantage.

Ah, I- Oh my God. That's it. You're Green Arrow. Holy crap, you're a superhero. Wow. The tights? A surprisingly good look on you.

Well, I hope so. We have some pretty powerful ones here, including Superman.

Yeah, I'm Green Arrow. But uh--they're not tights. Just leather pants.

Thor, Batman, Superman, Green Arrow...it's like nerd Heaven! And, er, obviously you guys make for a strong team. Seriously makes me question what I'm doing here, but I am so not going to complain.

Tight leather pants. There is a God Did you, um, bring your costume with you?

Also Hawkeye, Black Widow, Spider-Man and a lot of others. Well, what do you do, Penny?

I was actually wearing it when I got pulled here. I wound up almost shooting someone. Fortunately that didn't happen.

Oh boy. I can hear the fanboying now. Remind me to start carrying around a paper bag in case of fits. I'm an aspiring actress/waitress. Not exactly the stuff of legends, but I am pretty handy with a shotgun?

Rrrrreally? I almost wish I'd been sucked into this wacky world earlier. You must have good reaction time if you were able to stop yourself in time.

The fanboying? Hey, you never know. There are some pretty legendary actresses, right? Ginger Rogers, Marilyn Monroe, Meryl Streep. And being handy with a shotgun could be a lot more useful than you realize, especially around here.

Almost, huh? Well, I've been doing this for quite awhile now. Though you may be the first person who's gotten here who hasn't asked where my goatee was.

Fanboying. Often involves flailing, hyperventilating, and an inability to speak in complete sentences. If Leonard Nimoy shows up, I'm screwed. Actresses are usually legendary in a different kind of way than the Davids and their Goliaths. Shotguns and rope. I grew up in Nebraska and I killed at Junior Rodeo.

Almost. On the one hand...six feet of leather-clad superhero is appealing. On the other...well, Lucifer. And demons. And maybe the end of the world. You're supposed to have a goatee?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]dl_greenarrow
2012-09-03 11:25 am UTC (link)
No, I know what it is. I'm just not sure why you're calling it fanboying if you're a woman. Still, legendary in their own right, for sure. Well, I'm not sure how easy it is to lasso a person possessed by a demon, but you can shoot a ghost with rocksalt and it's a pretty effective dispersing maneuver.

Six foot three actually, but who's counting? Yeah, that's a pretty important other hand. Apparently I'm more famous from comic books and in it I'm older and have a goatee, yeah. I don't really think it would suit me personally.

Oh! No, I wasn't talking about myself. I don't fangirl. Drooling doesn't count. That's just appreciating a nice smile, okay?! I can only hope to someday be as legendary as those ladies. Hope really hard. And probably start praying again since all that stuff's kind of real. Well, what if I used special rope? Extra-strength should at least slow down a possessed person, right? Note to self: invest in a shotgun and whatever rock salt is. Can I get that at the grocery store?

Fanboys and groupies everywhere, I think. Never read a comic, but I am totally a fan of this look for you. The facial hair thing is not my favorite.

Oh. Who were you talking about then? And I'm sure you will be. Just never give up. That's the key to success. I'm still coming to terms with the prayer stuff being real, myself. I'm not sure. When a person is possessed they have abnormal strength. Maybe if the ropes were soaked in holy water first? But that might make them too heavy to use. I'm not sure. Ah, rock salt. More likely to find it at a place that sells winter-type equipment like snow blowers. It also helps melt ice.

I think so, too. And thank you. The compliment is very much appreciated.

My friend, Sheldon. He's a biiiiig fan of superheroes. And sci-fi. And scientists. I'm stubborn, so I guess I have that going for me. I think there might be a little more to it than that, but I'm allergic to giving up. So. Here's hoping. Are you not super religious either? Raised in it but rebelled and pulled away as soon as you could? Huh. I don't know. I'm stronger than I look. I might be able to handle a heavier than usual rope. Oh, right! I knew that. My only excuse is that I've been in California for too long.

You know...you're a lot more modest than I expected. And you're welcome.

And he's here too? That's nice, that you were pulled here with a friend. I'm not really a science guy myself. Stubborn is just another word for determined. So that's good. I'm definitely not super religious. My parents were Catholic? But I haven't been to church since I was about five. Ah, California girl? That's where I'm actually from. Star City, California. Which probably doesn't exist where you're from except in that whole fictional way.

Hah, tell that to my friends. They swear my ego gets bigger every day.

It's nice to know someone, yeah, and extra nice for that someone not to think of me as a character on a TV show. Sheldon's...different, though. I love the guy, but he drives me crazy half the time. I'm so not the science type! Sheldon tried to teach my physics once. It didn't go so well, so that was kind of that. We've got Catholic, but Church avoidance thing in common. For me, it was 18, though. Nebraska girl by birth, California girl at heart. Star City isn't on any map I've ever seen, so I'm thinking you might be right about that.

Trust me: I have met far, far worse. Faaaaaar worse.

Oh yeah, it helps more than you will hopefully ever know. Going back to the whole traveling with friends bit, what about you? I heard about Superman, but anyone else tag along? Because you know, if you're, I don't know, looking to fill your social calendar, mine is pretty open right now.

Especially when he looks like that, right? Strike while the iron's hot. Last I heard, he was in primo rebound status. I just got back from a week's vacation but I doubt Chloe put on her big girl panties much changed in seven days in that department. I could put in a good word for ya, if you want. Ollie's a really nice guy.

Especially when he's 6 foot 3 inches of hunky blond Adonis superdude, yeah. I'm kind of carrying a rebound club card, too. He's nice even after you get to know him, too? Promising. Very promising. I might just take you up on that since something tells me I'm gonna have some competition.

And totally hot, right? Okay. If you feel inspired to say nice, flattering things about me to Oliver, there will be absolutely no protests from me. There might actually be bear claws as soon as I find a place that sells them. Or are you a scone kind of girl?

Oh my God, yes. Not as hot as Nate but definitely on my top ten More of a chocolate glazed doughnut kinda girl, but I'm down with bear claws haha

Next time I get a chance that isn't so obvious (like...doing it now would be a fail), I'm on it, chica.

Haha, well I figured. That would be awkward and I'd kinda like to avoid that. ;) Also, I think you might be my new BFF.

We should go! Before I go to work! There's one a few blocks up from the complex. It's a mom & pop shop I used to stop at on my way to the paper I used to work for, they're so good.

Yeah, oh...I know all about awkward. When you're tight with Lois Lane and you open your big fat mouth about finding someone attractive, it's really hard not to be Scooooore! I'm all for new BFFs ♥!
