The strangest thing happened. I was letting Beth play outside, watching her like usual, running around and...I don't know, maybe it got through somehow but a Croat came running toward us and I swear I thought we were done for. I grabbed her and ran and by the time I had her safe and turned to get a shot. I didn't need to do anything. Literally it exploded. Like...exploded before it could lay a hand on us?
