Who: Cody and Ember
Where: The cemetery
When: Morning

Ember sat before a grave marker, her fingers pinching tightly at the petals of a bouquet that belonged to whoever’s grave this was. Her eyes shifted down to read the name, Rosemary Evans. She lifted a delicate finger to trace over the edges of the stone, observing how smooth and cool it felt thanks to the intense elements as of late. She probably looked like some teenager rolling her ass off with how enthusiastically she had been touching and feeling the environment all morning, but she was just a ghost. In a cemetery. And she was marveling at how it felt to be able to feel things again, to be able to move them, to see with her own eyes that her hand wasn’t just moving through objects, but was actually stopped from passing. Her other hand, decorated with her engagement ring, wandered over the grass while a small smile meandered across her lips. She closed her eyes and took in the sensation of the wind gusting through her black hair, loose curls dancing towards the ends.

Cody had actually been looking for Ember. Just because he had no idea what to say to her didn't mean he didn't miss her. So, this could go incredibly poorly, but he had been looking around for a day or so for his wayward companion. Eventually he caught up with her, spotting her in the cemetery.

Subject:Post Midnight Stalking
Time:11:48 pm
Who: Cody and Gin
When: Wee Hours
Where: Gin's House

After spending the rest of his day wandering around feeling all kinds of off, Cody wound up stalking Gin. He'd followed her from a long distance to her place, then sat outside of it for hours. Well past dark, into the wee hours. Eventually, he wandered into the house, imagining she was asleep, and he ghosted into her bedroom. Quietly skirting the bed, he sat down by where she was sleeping, back leaned up against the bed itself, and he listened to her breathe.

Gin had sketched for hours after both Cody and Ember had left. It hadn't occurred to her until it was well after dark that she should go home. She felt such an array of emotions after interacting with both of the dead people that she'd come up with some pretty stark, odd things on her sketchpad. Still, fatigue and the fact she hadn't eaten found her traipsing back to her house. It was stupid to be out past dark with werewolves and whatever else possibly was running around but she was almost a sleepwalker at this point. Lost in thought and on a mission. She fed herself, took a long bath, and got into bed. Only to find sleep a fickle mistress. She tossed, turned, and murmured in her sleep, until something external seemed to settle over her and she fell deeper into sleep. Resting, she smiled in her sleep until her dreams took a strange turn. She woke suddenly but something told her to keep her eyes shut so she did. She waited, trying to sense what was happening around her but sleep swirled with fear and she couldn't get her bearings immediately.

Who: Cody and Gin
Where: encore
When: mid day

Gin was of a mind to sketch and paint and generally explore the nightmares she’d been having. There were canvases back to back and some that hung on the walls of her shop were of hellish, nightmare landscapes. And always, through the midst of the chaos, like a savior or protagonist (antagonist?) of a story, Cody walked in smoke and ash and fire. Immortalized by Gin’s strange need to capture him over and over again since their first interaction. She’d spent a great deal of time thinking over that meeting, wondering if he wasn’t lurking just behind her or around every corner she turned. She was almost exhausted from the constant paranoia but not quite. She was in the throes of creating a grand scene of what looked like it could have been right out of the book of Revelation. Cody included. Dark, visceral, and fairly obviously indicative of an obsessive mindset.

Cody didn't know what else to do with his time, especially after the stupid whirlwind that was his debacle with Ember. So he'd been wandering. Eventually, he came across that redhead's shop, and wandered in through a back wall, and was silently looking around the place.

He blinked as he came face to face...with himself. And as he looked around, he saw him kind of everywhere. Or at least a lot of places. He looked for her, not alerting her to his presence yet, though he knew his presence would unnerve her the closer he got.

Time:06:25 pm
Who: Cody and Ember
Where: The forest (leaving the werewolf encampment)
When: Morning
Warning: NSFW

Ember couldn't wipe the smug smirk off her lips if she had tried. She was the victor of the will-the-wolves-come-out-to-play bet she and Cody had established, which meant not only did she get to keep herself clothed, but she could harass Cody all she wanted. Maybe he would blush again! That was awfully fun. She looked up to her tall friend, smirk still absolutely prevalent as they slowly moved through the forest. "So what hot woman are we paying a visit to? I think we have a date with one and a wall." She looked down to herself and lightly tugged at her skirt. "It's too bad you absolutely suck at gambling, I am just itching to get out of these clothes." Not that this was a bet one could really examine odds for. Still, shit was needing to be given. She brought a hand up to idly twirl a piece of her hair around her finger, the red from the previous day remaining for the moment.

Cody was in fact, blushing. He also groaned. "Okay, you realize we need to find a girl who would actually want me first, right?" he asked. "Which, good luck with that!" he added. When she mentioned getting out of her clothes, he shot her a Look. "Oh fuck off," he said, tone not even up to par with being biting. Nope. He wasn't actually irritated. "Tease."

'It sucked, going from the highest high he'd experienced in forever, to now a crashing low.' )

Subject:the bored dead
Time:02:00 am
Who: Cody and Ember
Where: town
When: afternoon

Ember sat on a swing on the playground, head resting against the cool, metal chain that connected the seat to the frame. She had been so bored today, she didn’t even know what to do with herself. Some of the town was abuzz about some werewolf business occurring tonight which was somewhat exciting, she supposed. The rest of Delphi, however, was just carrying on with their business like usual. Normally, it’d be fine that way. But today was an exception. She wasn’t sure why it was, but it just wasn’t enough. She leaned back, allowing herself to fall to the ground dramatically. Keeping her legs propped up on the swing, she stared up towards the sky, wavy red locks surrounding her rather bare face, with silent complaints and a hint of resentment towards the normalcy of the day.

Cody had been vaguely looking around for Ember for a few days. That was one thing that blew about being dead that no one would think of. Even if you did have friends, it wasn't like you could call them up. And neither one of them really called anywhere 'home', though more recently, he was thinking possibly he should look into that. He just faced the same dilemma as he always did when that subject came up--where? The house out in the woods, maybe. But it seemed a little cliche to him.

Either way, he smiled when he spotted her, walking up to gaze down at her, blocking her view deliberately. "I always like when you go red." he told her, noting her hair's color that day. He had no idea how she did it, but she was brilliant at changing up her appearance. He wished he could master it, but nope. He just wandered around looking dead all the time.

Time:01:55 am
Who: Gin and Cody
Where: orchard
When: morning

Gin was sitting under a mango tree. Her thoughts were wandering a wide range of ideas but right then, with her pencil raised, eraser on her lower lip, she was stumped. She'd been sort of feeling less than creative lately and the trip to the fruit farm had been meant to stir up something, anything. On the pages before the one sitting blankly on her lap there were prosaic line drawings of birds, a mango that had fallen into a pile of mulch, the trees themselves. There was even a detailed and shaded monarch butterfly that had alighted on her coffee thermos. But nothing was inspiring her.

What she needed was some spark of life. Some pizazz in the middle of all this sameness. Hell, she'd even settle for getting herself into hot water with a black eye at the end of it if it meant she could pull out something new and fresh from her noggin. She leaned back against the trunk of the tree and gazed up into the leaves above her, wondering why the big, vast world that she'd wanted to see had to become so small so quickly. She sighed and stood to leave.

Cody was wandering around, as per usual. Lately he was feeling weird. He couldn't quite put his finger on why, but everything seemed to be bugging him. He felt like he'd been used to things the way they were, and then all of a sudden everything was different...but not really. He was still dead. He looked dead. He scared people, and not always when he wanted to. He was antisocial in the first place, really, but now he actually had options for being social, so it was different. Now it was a choice, not a forced state of being. And he did actually like talking to people sometimes, it was just...made of awkward.

He saw a woman he could only describe as 'bright' sitting alone by herself. Or, she was sitting, and then she was standing up, and he wasn't sure whether he was visible or not. Which was weird, considering. So he sort of stood there, hands shoved into his pockets as he eyed her.

Subject:Not Rainbows and Sunshine
Time:10:50 pm
Who: Darcy and Cody
Where: central park
When: midday

Her cousins were doing better, which meant Darcy had been sent back to school. Which was all well and fine, but it didn’t mean she had to stay there. So she didn’t at lunch when no one was really paying attention she snuck out, heading to the park with her lunch and a slightly busted but mostly still functional umbrella. Things she missed about the real world. She’d had a fun one, with clouds on the inside that looked like a sunny day. It made rainy days better in its own neat little way. And rainboots. She’d had those too. Insisted on them and her parents and willingly bought them considering it kept her from ruining other shoes. It was hard to miss them like she did.

So she wasn’t thinking about it. Thinking about Liam instead, holding her hand and talking about not having kissed anyone. She should have kissed him then, she realized that now, but at the time she’d been a bit out of it. Scared actually but Darcy wasn’t about to admit that to herself. Not a chance. They were fine, she knew they’d be fine.

Who: Cody and Kizzy
Where: Kizzy’s home for starters
When: Dawn

Kizzy couldn’t remember the last time she pulled an all-nighter. What she did know was that it had to be back during her college years, back when that was customary amongst college students. Late night runs for food would happen and large quantities of caffeine were consumed. Kizzy wished she had a sliver of that comfort the other day when the power went out and stayed out. Gavin was safe, which was technically all that mattered, but once that was settled, Kizzy had to focus on herself, something she wasn’t used to doing. Everyone else came before her, whether it was her brother or patients at the hospital. The thought of fending for herself in need for warmth and above all light was becoming more frightening than she let on.

Subject:Hey, you're dead!
Time:12:08 pm
Who: Zania and Cody
Where: The streets, Mickey's house, Zania's house
When: After midnight

Zania was annoyed at having missed the bachelor auction, the damn sun preventing her from even getting out of the house until it was over and done with. She'd stopped by the festival long enough to grab some popcorn, then began to wander around town, not at all interested in watching the movie. Maybe she should be. Maybe if she was sitting next to a guy, holding hands, poking fun at the movie or the people around them. There were a lot of maybes in her mind, but all of them fell short of reality, wherein she was walking by herself, somewhat hungry for blood. She still had a bag at Mickey's, but she wasn't ready to go there, especially if he'd taken a girl home with him.

Time:12:43 am
Who: Cody and Kenzie
Where: central park
When: later afternoon
Warnings: tbd

Cody was sitting on the grass behind one of the benches, still watching everyone go by. He was now too aware of the fact that people were noticing him, though he'd pulled his hood up to hide slightly. That left him a little more incognito, where it wasn't so obvious he was dead. He'd done it after a little girl saw him and started to cry. He had also heard someone say that he was in poor taste, which took him a while to figure out.

Eventually it dawned on him that he might look like a zombie to people. Which would, in fact, be in shitty taste. The only thing he could do that would be even more tasteless would be to wander around as zombie Hitler.

It kinda sucked that he was apparently visible and hearable now...and he was still alienating the fuck out of people.

Time:02:24 am
Who: Cody and Ren
Where: Central Park
When: late afternoon
Warnings: tbd

Cody was doing the same thing he did every day. Wandering. That happened when you were dead, had nothing to do, and nowhere to go. The absolute worst thing about being a ghost was the boredom. So, he took to checking out town, occasionally following people around when they caught his interest...it wasn't exactly unusual for him to stalk someone for a while, just to find out what they were all about.

Sadly, he didn't have anyone he was currently stalking. He was in the market for one, but no one had caught his eye yet. Something was going on in central park, so that was at least somewhat interesting. He walked along, watching the people coming and going.

He didn't notice that people were staring.
