Who: Cody and Ember
Where: The cemetery
When: Morning

Ember sat before a grave marker, her fingers pinching tightly at the petals of a bouquet that belonged to whoever’s grave this was. Her eyes shifted down to read the name, Rosemary Evans. She lifted a delicate finger to trace over the edges of the stone, observing how smooth and cool it felt thanks to the intense elements as of late. She probably looked like some teenager rolling her ass off with how enthusiastically she had been touching and feeling the environment all morning, but she was just a ghost. In a cemetery. And she was marveling at how it felt to be able to feel things again, to be able to move them, to see with her own eyes that her hand wasn’t just moving through objects, but was actually stopped from passing. Her other hand, decorated with her engagement ring, wandered over the grass while a small smile meandered across her lips. She closed her eyes and took in the sensation of the wind gusting through her black hair, loose curls dancing towards the ends.

Cody had actually been looking for Ember. Just because he had no idea what to say to her didn't mean he didn't miss her. So, this could go incredibly poorly, but he had been looking around for a day or so for his wayward companion. Eventually he caught up with her, spotting her in the cemetery.

Who: Riley and Ember
Where: The ranch
When: Morning

Ember had spent a considerable amount of time moping throughout the morning, her low even worse because of the incredible high she had experienced last night. The engagement ring that she had re-united with had proved to be some sort of energy source she could draw from, but she didn’t know how it worked. All she knew was one minute she was bumping into walls for the first time in ages then the seemingly next, she couldn’t even become visible if she wanted to. Did she break something? Was she forever doomed to live how she had when she was first introduced to her after life? Her endless woe-is-me party had her feet moving in no particular destination, though she recognized the surroundings when she glanced around to take note of where she was. The ranch. With that Riley guy who got all in a huff about her in his house. Why was she going to the places the people she didn’t really get along with resided? She almost turned around, but remembered the good that had happened from her lingering at Lance’s. She got her ring back. Although, now she was wondering if it was more a curse than a blessing. Still, she was curious to what the Australian cowboy was up to, so she marched forward with every intention of spying in her boring status. Little did she know, all her wishing, hoping, and focusing on being seen again had paid off since her previous consequence of becoming solid with her ring’s assistance had faded.

Riley groaned. The light in his eyes was so unwelcome and the fact that he was awake had him immediately grumpy. His head thudded dully and he regretted most of what he remembered and everything he didn't. He did remember telling off Micah. He did remember interacting with Lia. He groaned again at those memories feeling ashamed of himself and not the least bit frustrated with his own behavior. He definitely owed some apologies. He had gotten up to give his staff the day off and then fallen asleep again on the couch in the living room. His couch cushion was covered in drool. He sat up, wiped at his face, and looked around for his shirt. He froze when he saw Ember. "Oh, this is not happening," he moaned and closed his eyes for a moment. "What are you doing here again?"

“I only have eyes for your abs. I think I’m going to call them the Rilettes.” )

Subject:One Ring to Rule Them All
Time:09:21 pm
Who: Lance and Ember
Where: Lance's House
When: Late Afternoon

Ember had been consumed in her own thoughts when she finally stopped to observe her surroundings. Her legs had been on autopilot since she left Gin's shop and subconsciously, she just knew she wanted to be somewhere that she wouldn't run into Cody. Not yet. Her need to control situations was taking over her previous flurry of feelings she had experienced and she just wanted to make sure she had a clear decision on what to do with him set before their next interaction. So, that apparently meant entering into the house of her least favorite thief and venturing further along into his bedroom. She was disappointed to find he wasn't there and it seemed with the general silence that surrounded her that no one else was home. She glanced around, hoping her ring would pop out at her, but again was disappointed to not see it laying in some obvious area. Had he given it to someone or sold it? With a heavy sigh, she flopped onto his bed and lay there, sprawled out. Well, at least she seemed in the clear to avoid any unwelcome run-ins here.

Lance had been with Zan most of the morning napping and then coaxing some more attention out of her since she was dragging him to that damn party later. Eventually he’d left, headed home for a shower and to change. He looked for Kenzie but didn’t see her, which was fine. He guessed she was at work or somewhere else, then headed back towards his room, slipping out of his jacket and about to toss it at his bed before stopping just short. “Um...who the hell are you?” And why was there some girl on his bed?

'So help me god I will make you head straight for that goddamn white light.' )

Subject:The Graceful Ghost Girl and The Bartender Therapist

Who: Gin and Ember
Where: Gin’s Shop
When: Later mid day

Ember had a steady stream of mixed emotions that coursed through her for the entirety of the morning and right into the afternoon. She had connected with Cody in a way she thought she had lost the moment she died, but what good was that to her if she was going to feel irrevocably attached and guilty for it? Even as a ghost, she couldn't fight that emotional bond that formed after having sex with someone. As much as she would love to be that girl who could sleep with whoever she wanted without giving a second thought to them afterwards, she didn't seem to be blessed with that frame of mind. Or maybe it was because she had only slept with her fiance before Cody. Either way, she was lonely and upset and didn't know what to do other than try to distract herself. She had done a decent enough job of it within the town square, wandering in and out of shops until she found herself staring at a painting of the ghostly, brooding man she was trying not to think about. She brought a hand up to her rest against her forehead, pale fingers hiding beneath the bangs of her short, blonde hair.

Gin's door, open in spite of the weather, had failed to give her the little bell jingle of an announcement that someone was there. That and she was so distracted with her new painting that she herself failed to hear anything. It wasn't until she wandered out into the gallery to check a detail in one of the paintings hung there that she realized there was someone in her shop. "Hi," she called pleasantly, brushing hair from her cheek and wiping a smudge of cody's hair color across it. "Are you looking for something in particular or are you just browsing?" she asked with a smile. She wiped her hands on her smock and took it off, tossing it behind the counter. "Sorry about the lights," she indicated a couple that were burst. She hadn't yet replaced them since Cody had popped them earlier. Then she looked around at the nightmarish landscapes, all different and all featuring Cody in some way or another.

Who: Cody and Ember
Where: The forest (leaving the werewolf encampment)
When: Morning
Warning: NSFW

Ember couldn't wipe the smug smirk off her lips if she had tried. She was the victor of the will-the-wolves-come-out-to-play bet she and Cody had established, which meant not only did she get to keep herself clothed, but she could harass Cody all she wanted. Maybe he would blush again! That was awfully fun. She looked up to her tall friend, smirk still absolutely prevalent as they slowly moved through the forest. "So what hot woman are we paying a visit to? I think we have a date with one and a wall." She looked down to herself and lightly tugged at her skirt. "It's too bad you absolutely suck at gambling, I am just itching to get out of these clothes." Not that this was a bet one could really examine odds for. Still, shit was needing to be given. She brought a hand up to idly twirl a piece of her hair around her finger, the red from the previous day remaining for the moment.

Cody was in fact, blushing. He also groaned. "Okay, you realize we need to find a girl who would actually want me first, right?" he asked. "Which, good luck with that!" he added. When she mentioned getting out of her clothes, he shot her a Look. "Oh fuck off," he said, tone not even up to par with being biting. Nope. He wasn't actually irritated. "Tease."

'It sucked, going from the highest high he'd experienced in forever, to now a crashing low.' )

Subject:the bored dead
Time:02:00 am
Who: Cody and Ember
Where: town
When: afternoon

Ember sat on a swing on the playground, head resting against the cool, metal chain that connected the seat to the frame. She had been so bored today, she didn’t even know what to do with herself. Some of the town was abuzz about some werewolf business occurring tonight which was somewhat exciting, she supposed. The rest of Delphi, however, was just carrying on with their business like usual. Normally, it’d be fine that way. But today was an exception. She wasn’t sure why it was, but it just wasn’t enough. She leaned back, allowing herself to fall to the ground dramatically. Keeping her legs propped up on the swing, she stared up towards the sky, wavy red locks surrounding her rather bare face, with silent complaints and a hint of resentment towards the normalcy of the day.

Cody had been vaguely looking around for Ember for a few days. That was one thing that blew about being dead that no one would think of. Even if you did have friends, it wasn't like you could call them up. And neither one of them really called anywhere 'home', though more recently, he was thinking possibly he should look into that. He just faced the same dilemma as he always did when that subject came up--where? The house out in the woods, maybe. But it seemed a little cliche to him.

Either way, he smiled when he spotted her, walking up to gaze down at her, blocking her view deliberately. "I always like when you go red." he told her, noting her hair's color that day. He had no idea how she did it, but she was brilliant at changing up her appearance. He wished he could master it, but nope. He just wandered around looking dead all the time.
