BREAKING NEWS: The Daily Prophet has received exclusive news of a werewolf attack during an experiment of the Department of Mystery. The experiment happened not too far from Wandermere.

According to our source, seven people were killed, eight managed to escape, and three are currently at St. Mungo's suffering from werewolves' bites. It is believed that Minister Hermione Granger is one of the people who was bitten.

BREAKING NEWS: The Ministry has released the following statement:

This morning, the task force responsible for investigating the recent string of murders. The culprit is being interrogated and further details will be released forthwith. The Minister wants to thank you the men and women of the task force that have worked diligently to bring the killer to justice. Special thanks go to Patrolman Emil Lebeau who is in charge of the taskforce and Patrolman Alexander Goldstein, who was injured during the arrest.

BREAKING NEWS: Wizengamot ratifies the Statute on Population Control, starting the three year deadline. There were only 2 votes against it. It is stressed that the birth must happen before the 9th of February, 2034. Conception is not sufficient. To be safe and counting for pregnancies that go over the regular term, conception should occur on or before 1st April, 2033.

BREAKING NEWS: In less than three days, the International Confederation of Wizards has reached an agreement on the new Statute on Population Control, which is modeled after the laws enacted by the United States and Brazil. With an overwhelming support of 187 countries, the Statute now goes to the individual countries for ratification.

The law would require anyone to have a child before the age of 30 or within three years of enactment, whatever comes later.
Anyone over the age of 70 is exempt.
There are extentions in cases of miscarriage.
Families with three or more children and with low income will receive a stipend for each child.
International funds will be given to countries to support families with more children.
There are criminal penalties for failing to comply. The jail term is equal to the amount of years required to reach age 70. There are provisions to allow the person to have a child, at which time he or she would be released.
The Wizengamot is expected to ratify the Statute on Monday despite the Minister's objections.

BREAKING NEWS: Sources tells us that there's been another murder. Patrol was seen in Hogsmeade at Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop. Upstairs lives one Louis Weasley, son of Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour Weasley. The victim's name has not been divulged.

In a shocking change for the slow pace of bureaucracy, twenty-three countries have already passed Children Laws. The laws all mirror themselves and even more interesting, there is at least a country in every inhabited continent that has passed the laws. In the face of this agreement, the International Confederation of Wizards has called for an emergency conference on Wednesday 5th to deliberate the possibility of passing an international statute which would prevent wizards and witches from relocating to avoid the Children Laws.

Breaking News: the Patrol Squad was called this morning at the house of Jason Wood, son of Oliver Wood, and keeper for Puddlemere United. Our source tells us that staff for United went to the house when the keeper didn't report. Patrol found Mr. Wood dead. Foul play is suspected. Read all about it in tonight's Evening Edition.
