Redux: an AU Harry Potter RPG

Hi guys, Lis here with her newest one, Roderick Proudfoot adopted son of Auror Proudfoot and formerly a Borgin. He is a 1995 Ravenclaw and currently works as an Unspeakable in the Space Room at the Department of Mysteries after working for the Committee on Experimental Charms and obtaining an astrophysics degree at Oxford.

Ric is quite possibly too smart for his own good and does not suffer fools lightly. He masks a lot of his caring under a thick layer of selfishness and general prickliness. He won't hesitate to tell people that they are being idiots, but on the same token he is someone who is vehement that people should be able to behave however they see fit, regardless of societal norms.

He's currently in a long term relationship with Tobias King, which has lasted since Hogwarts (and has mystified Ric as to how it lasted this long). It will probably become more serious in the next coming weeks, but Ric's not going to have any idea that's coming. In terms of connections, he needs dormmates. Coworkers (or former coworkers). He would REALLY love to see his father and siblings in game.

Hey Guys,

I don’t know if this is going to come as a surprise or a shock to anyone, but I need to take a step back from the game. As much as I love all of you and the characters, things are not getting done like they should be in a timely manner. Right now I don’t know if this means a short-term hiatus from the game or outright leaving. At the very least I will likely cut back on characters, dropping Percy and Katie.

So what does this mean for Redux? I have already had offers from from Meg and Erin M. to step up and take over the vast majority of modly duties. I will still be around to advise as needed and to help out with coding if something should go wrong, but I no longer will be the first point of contact.

I’m sorry. You guys deserve much more, but I am unable to do what needs to be done and that’s unfair to the lot of you.

Hey all. Lis here with #5, Katie Bell, current chaser for the English National team and... well, that bits a tad complicated because her contract's pretty much up and she hasn't signed a new one yet.

After school Katie didn't get drafted by any teams and instead of being a grumpy gopher about it, she moved across the pond to the States and tried out there, all while living with her (muggle) maternal grandmother. She's been playing with the Picayune Pumas for five years and for roughly three of those years she has been married to Troy Duvall of the United States National Team. She hates talking about her relationship to the press and still blushes bright red when she has to talk about ~intimacy with anyone other than her husband.

Katie still loves quidditch and misses her Hogwarts friends terribly when she's off in the States. She invites you all to descend on New Orleans, but for the time being she's happy to be in the UK for the World Cup. Expect her to be a little out of the loop with things as far as who is dating who (or not dating who for that matter), but willing to talk to pretty much everyone.

Hello everyone! Last intro for a little bit. Lis here with #4 (again?), Galinda Blishwick, younger sister to Osgar, freelance illustrator, and shopgirl at Madam Malkin's. Oh yeah, she's also a werewolf, but that's a closely guarded secret. As is the fact that she's a mother, though close friends might be aware of this fact. She has also been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, yet another one of her secrets. She's probably a bit paranoid, but she justifies this with the fact that if people learned the truth she would be shunned and forced to rely solely on her parents for the rest of her life, which is just another set of chains. No thank you. (She has a bit of a dramatic side.)

Galinda is as bright and loud as her hair color and tattoos suggest, but that's often a way to distract people from everything else. She never did particularly well in school (Hufflepuff, 1986-1993), but masked as many struggles as she could. She's never been fond of reading, but listens to the WNN religiously and can be a bit of a news junkie that way. She's somewhat recently become obsessed with to-do lists as a way to keep herself motivated and organized.

I would love all sorts of connections for her. People she used to be friends with (she had a tendency to burn bridges at the most inopportune times). People who still like her despite everything. People she's stepped out with for funsies.

Hey guys, this is just me announcing my semi-official hiatus while I am going to this place...



I'm leaving on a jet plane tomorrow with a departure of 8:30am, which means I have to be at the airport by 6:30-7 and up probably by 5:30. This will be the only time I actually want to be conscious early in the morning....

That being said, I will likely be around via AIM on my phone because this is a solo trip and I am a needy needy person, but tags will likely be sparse/in the evening before I crash. I WILL have a computer with me, but tagging won't be my first priority. Please be good for dragon!mod Jen.

Lis here with number five: Lucas Flint, youngest Flint sibling and trainee dragonologist in Wales. He just finished Hogwarts this past June and is officially a registered Animagus as of this past October.

Lucas is a mountain man in training and while he is often quite self-relient, he still doesn't know how to adult properly. Things like paying bills on time and household charms are utterly lost on him. He would sometimes lose his head if it wasn't attached to his head, which is why he has no idea what has gone on for the last month as he's lost his journal and just hasn't thought to replace it yet.

While some may know him as Flint Jr. others might remember him as that first year who fell into the lake in September 1994 and then made friends with the Giant Squid. He LOVES animals like the way a fat kid loves cake and can blabber about them for hours if you give him a chance. So be prepared.

As for wants, both his siblings are taken (whom he loves more than anyone else) but he would love some boys in his year/dorm, mostly so they can get into shenanigans. People who are willing to question his oddities, but are willing to put up with him. Or those that don't. Come at me, bro.

I honestly do not know what happened here. One moment I was working on my little dragon trainee and the next thing I knew Percy Weasley was being incredibly rude and shoving his way in front.

Percy never had the split that he did in canon, nor did he have Crouch or Fudge or Scrimegeour stroking his ego, so Percy is a bit less of a prat than you might remember from Hogwarts. That's also due to the fact that he's married and a two year old at home. He has accepted the fact that his wife is cooler than he is and let her stands in the spotlight instead unless it has to do with work issues. You can find him in the Department of Magical Games and Sports in the Press Office, focusing the British & Irish Quidditch League. He's also a BIL Representative to the International Association of Quidditch and Federation Internationale de Quidditch Association and knows all 700 ways to foul in Quidditch. He routinely made statistics his bitch, everyone.

Hello everyone. Lis here with #3, Persephone Rosier, the person who would have won Most Unlikely Hufflepuff if she wasn't in the same year as Zacharias Smith. She is almost the exact opposite of her brother: she's quite to almost being stand offish, an incredibly hard worker when it came to her academics (she's LIKES feeling like the most intelligent person in the room), and doesn't do physical intimacy. She doesn't do emotional intimacy either, so she and Theseus have that in common.

Officially Persephone works for the International Confederation of Wizards helping to collect information and track down on dark objects. She does that and has the shiny credentials to prove it, but when she's not looking for the specific items on the ICW's list she can be obtained to find other items for a price. She also does side work for Borgin and Burkes, which is owned by her maternal uncle.

People in school might have known Persephone to be that 'quiet Hufflepuff' who tended to hang back from the gaggle and often escaped to the library for some peace and quiet. Yes, that made her a bit difficult to get to know, but if you actually made an attempt and made it through her defenses there will be very few lines Persephone won't be willing to cross for you. Her capacity for violence is often masked by her appearance and general behavior, but it there, like the cold edge of steel.

Hello everyone! Lis!mod here with her second, Peregrine Wildsmith, better known as Pip. Where Daisy is all caustic sass, Pip is genuine friendliness.



He's played for the Appleby Arrows for the past eight years and member of the Canadian National team since 1994. He is basically the walking embodiment of the Canadian stereotype, but he's so earnestly sincere about it (most of the time), you kind of forget that. He's only a teeny-tiny troll and primarily does it for laughs (and for the fan's adoration). Pip mostly wants to be friends with everyone. He leaves all the quidditch rivalries on the pitch. People who live in Hogsmeade will be familiar with him and his dog, Rusty. (Yes, the dog is black and white. No, there is no red coloring what so ever.) He has three elder brothers he really doesn't get along with and a host of British cousins. (His family makes floo powder, though he hates the stuff and refuses to use that mode of transportation.)

He wants all the connections, please and thank you.

I'm Lis, one of the mods here at Redux, with only one character (so far), Miss Daisy Potter. I've described her as James Potter's karmic retribution or if you took the worst parts of all the Mauraders+Lily, pulse for a minute or so and then added a dash of contrariness and brandy before baking at 350 for forty-five minutes. Maybe I'm making her out to be worse than she actually is, but she pretty much doesn't care what you think (even though she sort of does, but won't admit it). You can find her working at Slug & Jiggers in Diagon Alley or possibly at the local pubs in her off hours.

Come at me with all your plots. She would really love to see her brothers in game (older and younger). Partners in crime dating back from Hogwarts (and specifically the Ethel to her Lucy). Possible (probable) hookups that looked great in the evening, but was definitely a regret the next morning.
