Redux: an AU Harry Potter RPG

Hello friends! I am Lily and I know most of you, but a couple of you I do not, so let me introduce myself. I was in Redux previously, and I have now returned with Remus Lupin and Neville Longbottom (nevilled).

Remus here is the current DADA professor at Hogwarts and has been for a while, so a bunch of characters here have had him as a teacher. So he's going to know a bunch of you. I especially require plot with fellow werewolves (mentor, anyone?) and former students. ALSO WHERE MY MARAUDERS AT? (and Lily. You count too.)

Neville, your resident Boy Who Lived, is an Auror and he really doesn't enjoy it, tbh. He wanted to work as an Herbologist, but he felt like he had to do something heroic because who would accept that the Boy Who Lived is an Herbologist? He may switch careers. You know, if Professor Sprout ever retires... but that is a long way off. He's in an on again/off again relationship with Daisy Potter. I need friends for him. Or enemies. Enemies are fun too. Whatever you have to throw at him.

I'm sorry to say I must resume my hiatus. My internet is acting up again, and it will probably only get back to normal in January. I'll try to stay in touch and do hiatus breaks until then through comments and/or posts, but this computer I'm currently using for this announcement is old and moody, with a tendency to freeze at the worst moments (not to mention I'll be sharing it with two teenage girls who tend to get violent when cut off from facebook) and change the spelling of words to Portuguese while I type, so I can't make any promises.

Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope I'll be around more come 2017. Love you all!

I gather this has become general knowledge already, but I wanted to let you know myself that I'm also leaving Redux. I emailed the mods this morning, but haven't been able to take a break from work until now to let the rest of you know.

This has been building for a while, and is not simply a response to recent events. I could go into more detail, but having made the decision to leave I'm not sure what good it would do anyone.

I'm sorry to those of you (Erin H, Meg, Lindsey, Squeaky, Clem) who had on-going lines with me. I hope this won't inconvenience you too much.

Hi guys,

This will not be a surprise to some of you, I too have decided to leave Redux. I wrote a long post explaining why, but decided that this might be easier. I have enjoyed playing with a lot of you over this year and Redux has brought me a lot of joy. Unfortunately, it has come to a time where my frustration is winning over my love for my lines.

I wish you all the best and hope to play with some of you again in the future!

I have enjoyed playing with many of you and it does pain me to say that I won't be staying with Redux any longer. I have many issues with the game that I choose not to discuss here mainly because I am choosing to take the high road rather than create a massive upheaval of drama. In short, I am not happy and I think that it is best for my own sanity to leave the game before I subject myself to more unhappiness. I wish you all the very best and I am sorry for any holes that my absence may cause you. Good luck.

Hi everyone,

Just letting you guys know that my brain is kind of conspiring against me at the moment. I'm finding it tough to get inside the heads of my own characters for some reason and my anxiety is coming back to tell me that everything I write is total crap, leaving me with the less than desirable result of forcing activity for the sake of it. I figure that a not-quite-hiatus might help, especially as people will be busy with the holidays soon anyway

Basically I'll be around in chat and available via email if you want to discuss anything plotty (and please do, I want to iron out the kinks that are happening in my head!), and I'll be around to work on our Carmichaels doc, Crystal! I'm just going to try and focus on quality and not quantity from here on in, and hopefully a little break will help with that.

To the folks I owe tags to: my main computer's Wi-Fi card crapped out last night and I will be buying an Ethernet cable sometime today. In the meantime, I'm out of the house until this evening and hopefully the tagging will happen then. <3

so i'm sure you all know that annoying feature of gdocs of late (since at least early october) where it puts in double paragraph spacing when copying+pasting from docs over to here?

well, after a bit of googling i came across a bit of a solution that although slightly annoying is far less annoying than having to sift through a multi-page thread to remove the extra spaces.

so what you want to do when your doc is all ready for posting is:

1. click on File
2. go down to Download As
3. and then select Rich Text Form (.rtf)
4. after the file's downloaded you just need to open up the .rtf file in WordPad or Word
5. and then copy from there and paste into the post window on IJ
6. ta-da! no more double spacing!

hopefully this will help some of you out when posting docs :)

I'm back from my hiatus! Alas, on top of the issues I had mentioned before, I also became internet-less for the rest of the month shortly afterwards, which sucked. But now it's back, and things seem a little easier now - though I now find myself having 7-hour-long Spanish classes on a regular occasion.

Anyway, is there anything important I have missed? Anything Luna or Miles should be aware of/involved with?

Hey everybody,

As some of you know, RL has been rather chaotic for me of late. I tried to make sure it didn't interfere too much with my RPing, but it has become increasingly difficult these past few weeks. And now that my friendly employment centre is forcing me to attend a new training course, I'm seeing my already limited time become even more limited still.

As a result, I feel I should take a small hiatus - hopefully very soon the family troubles plaguing me will have been solved, and I'll have adjusted to the rhythm of this course.

this is penelope clearwater! muggleborn, ravenclaw class of 94, prefect, head girl, former girlfriend of percy weasley, all the good stuff. now on to what you don't know!

penelope is the daughter and eldest of the earl and countess of huntingdon. her life was somewhat in the public eye, which meant her magical side always had to be hidden away. she went to university at oxford for fine art, worked restoring paintings for the national gallery after she graduated, but once her younger brother discovered her secret she decided to go back to life where she didn't have to pretend to be someone she wasn't.

she returned to life fully in the wizarding world a couple years ago, opened a boutique in limbic alley, and works designing and creating lingerie. you're welcome, everyone. she'll also design "normal" clothes for people, ie gowns particularly - anyone going to a gala, and will happily work with anyone to create something custom, one of a kind, and particularly fitted to them. just come visit her at barely a stitch.

Hello, friends! I'm so sorry I haven't been around lately. Life has been nuts. This week has been tech/performance week for the show I'm working on, so hopefully on Monday, I will start to ease back into RP.

I say hopefully because of the other issue. I've been sick for a solid month now. First it was a cold, then it was strep, then the antibiotics fixed those symptoms and it was just a cold again, and now that the antibiotics are gone, I feel like it might be right back to strep, and I haven't had the time to go to the doctor again to find out what the hell is happening to my immune system. All I know is, I'm not sleeping enough because I'm busy, and when I'm awake, I feel too miserable to focus on happy fun RP times.

Also, NaNo.

So I guess I'm on hiatus for a little while? I'm seriously hoping that in just a couple of days my life will stop being quite so horrible, because I miss you guys and I feel terrible about missing out on stuff here. But I just don't know at this point. If anybody wants to do any random gdocs to post later in the month, I'm better at keeping up with those, though Julie and Erin H will probably tell you that "better" currently means "hahaha no."

Crystal with my last, but certainly not least, character. This is Patrick Chambers. He is Ken's younger brother, an artist, and a Hufflepuff. He's 22 and needs all the friends that he can be offered. Morning all! Apologies for my abrupt disappearance on Saturday - I know I left a few emails unanswered. I had to take my laptop in for repairs, so I am currently computerless at home. I've got computer/internet at work - which is why I am now in an hour before I actually start, hoping to get caught up.
