Joseph Proudfoot is the adoptive father of Roderick and the soon-to-be Sasha Proudfoot. There's one more son. Joe adopted the kids after the first war because his wife, a fellow auror, was killed, and there was a hole in his heart that needed to be filled. He needed to live life in a way that made him worthy of her. He loves his kids. He will do anything for them. He's just a good guy with a big heart, and he hates being disappointed.
