Sure I could give you the whole 'play me, I'm Irish' line. But that wouldn't be me. What you see is what you get - an ex-cop, ex-superhero, ex-teacher, with a daughter who can't decide whether she loves me or hates me, a head full of knowledge and the craftiness of a weasel. Sure I'm getting on a bit, but I can still keep up with the game and plenty of life left in me and more than enough to put the fear of God into that son-in-law of mine. Go on, take a look. Because life doesn't end at forty. Or even fifty.

Name: INEZ TEMPLE

Date of Birth: September 2, 1991

Powers: Super strength, super durability and accelerated healing.

Status: POTENTIAL X-MAN - AVAILABLE FOR APPLICATIONS.

Inez Temple is the daughter of John Paul Temple, a former Texas Ranger turned criminal in order to pay for his dying wife's medical bills. She was raised on the run, until she manifested super strength and durability in the middle of a gun battle between her father and her U.S. Marshall uncle. Unable to provide her with the training she needed, Inez's father staged his arrest in a bank robbery and eventually Inez was sent to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Brash and confident, Inez saw herself as the leader of the New Mutants, although her personal perspectives on right and wrong and her temper would often get her into trouble. In October 2009, bored with being in one place and confused by her not-relationship with Julian Keller, she requested a transfer to the West Coast Annex for a change of scene and a chance of further powers training.

Name: NORIKO KIKUCHI

Date of Birth: September 9, 1991

Powers: Electrokinesis.

Status: AVAILABLE FOR APPLICATIONS.


Noriko Kikuchi or Nori - as she prefers to be called - was a drug-addicted runaway when she arrived at the school, self medicating in an effort to control the hyperactive state her electrokinetic powers left her in. This, combined with a most un-Japanese slacker attitude, made things difficult at first, but a relationship with Julio Richter and a realisation she could actually rely on people made her gradually begin to cooperate with her fellow New Mutants. A successful completion of her junior year of school prompted her parents to bring her home to Japan - whether this is a successful experiment remains to be seen.

I mean, I'm popular enough and it's not like I have a whole lot of baggage to take on board, but here I am, sitting on the shelf, all that potential just waiting to be unlocked. I'm young, I've got plenty of friends waiting for me and all sorts of options for wacky adventures with the New Mutants; here I am. Powers: Sonic scream

Theresa Cassidy: A resident at the school since her early teens, until recently Terry has made Xavier's - and the X-Men - her life. Fiery and passionate, Terry's relationships with her father, Sean Cassidy and her young husband, Bobby Drake, have always been tempestuous and marked by long separations. Following her completion of her college degree, Terry relocated to Cassidy Keep to join Bobby and hopefully pursue a career in Interpol like her father. Bobby's return to the X-Men and the distance it entailed has put a strain on their relationship, and she took an assignment seconding her to the FBI to bring her back to New York to see where things stood. Shortly after she returned, she and Bobby decided to separate while he moved to the West Coast Annex. She was recalled to Interpol in November 2012.

Date of Birth: May 10, 1988

Powers: Telekinesis with a pink aura

Status: X-MAN - AVAILABLE FOR APPLICATIONS.

Vance is a young telekinetic who spent two years of his life at both The Vault, and a minimum security prison for mutant inmates for the charge of manslaughter. He accepted an invitation from Professor Charles Xavier to complete his online degree at the Xavier Institute while continuing his therapy. He found himself given a second chance, becoming an X-Man trainee and later moving to the West Coast Annex to continue his training there. He is still considered part of the team, and is welcome to return at any time.

Name: KAROLINA DEAN

Date of Birth: June 9, 1992

Powers: Manipulation of solar energy and flight.

Status: FORMER NEW MUTANT - AVAILABLE FOR APPLICATIONS.


Karolina Dean. Known in the Runaways comics as Lucy in the Sky Karolina has the ability to manipulate solar energy. At the current time this manifests as a rainbow glow to her skin and the ability to fly. Daughter of two Hollywood actors, Karolina had the kind of childhood most dream of and and when she came to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters in February 2006 after manifesting in her high school, it was something of a shock. Much younger than most of the other students at the time of her arrival, she was somewhat isolated and as she grew older she became hostile and uncooperative, wanting only to return to her old school and refusing to have anything to do with the New Mutants student training team or her peers. In June 2009, she finally got her wish after making a deal with her parents and returned to California. However, her powers are still largely untrained and life as a visible mutant is rarely safe, especially for one in the public eye.

Name: CESSIILY KINCAID

Date of Birth: August 23, 1991

Powers: Malleable non-toxic mercury form.

Status: NEW MUTANT - AVAILABLE FOR APPLICATIONS.

Cessily Kincaid is composed of non-toxic mercury, with a tenuous grip on her powers and a tendency to turn into a puddle. Viewed as an faerie imposter by her parents when she manifested, she was kept in the house for months until eventually being sent to Xavier's. It was a place she felt more at home in, until the events of Day Zero traumatised her to the extent she was unable to retain her human form much. She was sent to Attilan's mutant school in October 2008 for further training in a calmer environment, with the option to return any time she wants.

Name: Alexander Lexington

Date of Birth: March 13, 1980

Powers: Electrokenesis.

Status: X-MAN - AVAILABLE FOR APPLICATIONS

Rejected as a teen by his mother, who blamed him for his father’s death, Lex joined the military following his graduation from high school, keeping his mutation a secret. The army was his calling and he became a sergeant in the Special Forces over the next ten years. A mission in Pakistan which forced him to use his powers to prevent a senior officer from committing a massacre revealed his forbidden mutant status and he forced out. He was paroled to Xavier’s where he became one of the self-defence instructors and a trainee X-Man, but when he learned of an incident involving his former platoon in South America, he took personal leave from the team to investigate.

Name: LILLIAN CRAWLEY-JEFFRIES


Date of Birth: October 23, 1985

Powers: Homeostatic bio-aura.

Status: X-MAN - AVAILABLE FOR APPLICATIONS.

Lillian Crawley-Jeffries: Impetuous and short-tempered, Lil fled a difficult marriage and the demands of Beta Flight training to try things with the X-Men. She found herself succeeding almost despite herself, making friends and even experimenting with dating again (usually not terribly successfully due to her conflicted feelings about her husband). But when the new Alpha Flight team was almost completely wiped out, she returned to Canada to care for her injured husband. Her dream of Alpha was dashed by the cancellation of the program, and her future remains very much unsure at this stage.
