There was a checklist of questions for Kate to answer about her assistant, and not one of which she had the answer to. She'd always found Brian to be competent and he showed up on time, but other than that she had no real opinion.
There were questions here about his team work, cleanliness, ability to follow orders. How the fuck should she know?
The review had to be completed before the first of the year in order for Brian to get his raise on time and she supposed she should get to work.
With a wary sigh, she headed out of her lab and into the offices.

Niles sat alone in his apartment in nothing but a pair of jeans, Lola lounging on his lap. On his kitchen table sat a large collection of brightly wrapped with too much tape gifts that he'd just finished. Tomorrow was the secret santa thing that he'd agreed to participate in, and as a general rule Niles was very generous with his friends.
He'd made a few of those this year.
Stretching he flipped the channel on his T.V. and arched a brow at the Lifetime movie he landed on. 
"The Lies He Told?" he said out loud, then sighed, defeated. "Awesome."

"Mmmm, dinner was absolutely fabulous," Sarah said, rubbing her belly. "Now's the part where I invite you up for a nightcap, but I'm warning you, I only have hot chocolate and a couple of licorice strips."
