The time was closing in on half past noon when Emily among dozens of others arrived in the vast lobby of the airport that was jammed up with people. She dodged others fleeting by her as she walked further into the lobby dragging her bag behind her. Emily wondered how she would even notice Vincenzo in the cluster of people, and was not confident at all about him even being there in the first place.

Sunday afternoon was a nice shift in the summer because it was busy without being manic and there were usually a few sales to spice things up.

The gallery had been open long enough now to have developed some regulars who had a little Sunday ritual - coffee at the Auberge, a visit to he gallery to see what was new or to angst overwhether to buy that particular item they had falen in love with, and a trawl round the little shops in the Square.

Andy swung gently in her spinny chair, sipped some of Gaston's excellent coffee and waited for her next customer.
