Morbid much? [But her eyes soften after a moment seeing the worry.] No. I think they probably have this under their control and it's some kind of test. I think if they just wanted to kill us there are easier ways to do it.

I would not drown. But everyone else would. [She stares out at the water with those eyes that always seem just a little too big, too blue to be real.] I wonder if they think this is fun.

Probably. For them. I think they know better than to think it's fun for us. It's probably just a distraction for us.

Maybe they were vulnerable today and couldn't risk us exposing it. [Which is not something she'd thought until just now.]

Probably. [Sounding kind of down about where her own postulating was taking her.] I haven't really been doing a lot of that either. [But she has been keeping busy getting things ready for it.] You any good at making boats?

I've already got one started over there. [She nods.] I'm trying to figure out how to get a canopy on it that will keep the rain off without it tipping over.

[She smiles again, very pleased to have a comrade in this. It feels nice. A few minutes of work and the tarp is more or less in place over the middle of the boat. It's not high enough to stand on but they can sit under it comfortably enough.] Shall we set sail, Artemis-san?

So far so good. [She looks around and doesn't see any leaks, so that's something. Granted, everything is kind of wet because of the rain and flood waters.]

It's going to be interesting once the sun goes down. [Or the artificial version of it anyway. And by interesting she means harder.]
